Contaminate the piping? People put vegetables in garbage disposals all the time, you wash food off your plate, this is what pipes are designed to do, take organic waste and water away

Oh my god, you shouldn’t use these. First, the leaf hole needs to have the leaf on the inside of the pipe, then fill in the hole so it won’t cause hydraulic shock, as well as a decreased flow. With the carrot hole, you need to use a non-degradable plug and fill the hole like the one above, same reason.
