I have a gel overlay on my natural nails so that is why nails look like they do. Please BE CAREFUL when removing the peeled polish. I have full control over my actions and I'm fully aware how much pressure to use and how light of a touch I need. I've done something similar. But instead, I used regular clear nail polish as a base (3 coats), then I applied my sexy red gel polish, cured, applied a shiny top coat, cured and today (Wednesday) is officially 4 days, and my gel polish is still perfectly intact. I can use my own nail to peel the edge, but I let it be, so I think this method will save my nails from soaking in acetone.

Tia Hunt Haha no way! That must be a big collection 😂 loll! I don't think anybody outside the "nail art community" would get it. I use to gather them up till I had about a hand full collected- then just before I would do the hoover, I would throw them up in the air and make it rain peelies 🙈😂😂 so satisfying! Xx especially the noise it makes when being vacuumed and sucked in 🙈🤣😂😂 weeks of patient collecting... then all over in 2 minutes! Xx 😭😂😂😘💖

+Louise Patton builder gel is amazing. Been using it for years. Yes unfortunately that's the problem with peel off base coats. It's not made to last, it's made to come off quickly and easy.

After applying the builder gel I applied a gel top coat. Then I applied the peel off base coat 💖

Camille Chen it begins to chip by the 2nd day, so not long.

I like putting it only in the middle of my nails so that it doesn't reach any of the edges (that way it won't chip and peel off) and then I do my gel like I normally do. To remove I still use Acetone, but it comes off so much easier and the middle of the nail is protected by the base coat. :)

Will this technique work over top a glossy top coat, not gel or overlay?

I'm not so sure sorry, I think it might just peel the top coat off when you try to remove it. A gel top coat has more strength to stay on the nail plate so it doesn't stick to the peel off base coat. I'm sure you can try it out yourself and see, you never know... 😊💕

+Lizzie Marrufo yes, because it is a peel off base coat- it tends to peel or chip much faster than usual.
