I have a mini lint roller that I use for cleaning my molds, which I find more convenient than tape. The tape is good if you don’t have a lint roller though!

Why do you not use soap and water? Is it harmful to the mold?

No it's not. You just need to be careful that they are completely dry before putting resin in them because resin does not like water. Baby wipes work well for quick clean up.
