I am using old school LED lights (Bloomspect 3000's) . If you are looking for a short, stalky plant in Veg. I use lots of blue 410 - 470 nm with Green 510 nm in veg. I don't add in the Red 630 - 730nm till the plant has grown 4 - 6 nodes(doesn't take long with the increased blue and green light). Then I try to slowing increase the intensity of the Red light being added. This is because in my experience the plant is SUPER sensitive to Red light compared to Blue Light. Difficult to provide too much blue light for Cannabis but very easy to provide too much red light.

I purchased 12 sets of the 680nm and 24 sets of the 730nm about 2 months ago. In total the room has 1200 watts of combined 680+730nm, she's red and bright! Starting week 5 of flower today! I've been doing both only on 15 mins after lights off but I'm gonna switch to 680s on 12 hours a day after watching this. Thanks!

The Blue Lights are actually no real UV Lights, it's also called Deep Blue. It has nothing to do with yield but if you run this lights you get shorter plants. It's only purpose is to shape plants more to your will. The same goes for the IR, it's no real IR, it's Far Red, which will help with rooting and strechting.

After I hope MARS HYDRO gives a nice dimming turorial with the light to teach when to turn ON the IR and Deep Red. And when we are talking about MARS HYDRO we are talking about China and TEMU's quality. For this light we will need to test it at least 3 years to see how it ends... Just anecdotal info... I did a crude germination experiment last winter (about 100 cells) comparing a variety of conventional lights vs GroWealth 1500 with UV/far red switches on all the time. I used a cheap-o meter to get equal PAR. The GroWealth made a believer out of me. The stems were fatter and the seedlings did better after transplant. Not a night-and-day difference, but for sure enough to justify the added cost.

I've used a IR heater throughout the dark bit of the day. never thought it was beneficial. but looking back it was maybe, I mean I've watched one where it says attached to the fitting, leave it on ten minutes after and before turning the lights on off. but probably more natural on the underside of the leaves. like it irradiates from the earth. maybe the companys have tested it, not read much into it though

Question 🙋‍♂️ my good 👍 sir? Can you do a content video on how much par and photosynthesis lowers as you go through the canopy and also do it in multiple stages. Seedling 🌱 maybe 🤔 naturally already answered because of space obviously 🙄. You could do an early stage like not super thick canopy and then do an extremely dense canopy I mean maxed out kinda canopy and do all layers. Then you could do normal pre flower 🌸or veggie grow however it needs to be done ✅ to fit within guidelines so you don’t get into trouble and then a last few days before harvest and do all layers of canopy again. 😊I would love ❤️ ❤❤❤❤❤ to see those results. Also obviously 🙄 you pick one ☝️ of your lights 1st 🥇

Would you recommend anything different for use with auto flowers on a 20/4 light cycle? Specifically with the deep red. Would you just run that for the 12hrs. and then off for 8hrs. , split the 12hrs. up evenly over the 20hrs. or run it for the full 20hrs. during flower? I've reached out to Mars Hydro but they just referred me to the information they have based on a 12hr. light cycle.

Any thoughts on UVA being basically a fancy blue light? They state things like ,10 mins etc. but 10 mins with UVA is basically nothing from a plants perspective. I think a lot of the timings etc stated with UV are applied to UVB. However UVB LEDs cost a fortune ATM so they aren't being used by companies. The far red etc is proven to help at the right stage but I really think the UVA add ONS are just a waste. Any thoughts @migro?

The Full Spectrum was meant for 400-700nm but new studies show that UV light that is under 400nm also produces photosynthesis and the Far Red light which produces more than 700nm also produces photosynthesis.

Using Spider Farmer UV/IR In Addition to my SP 3000 in a 4x2 tent but havent noticed any noticable differences. I played a lot with the timings but from my opinion besides thats annoying to keep the cycles, it is a waste of money. Just get a good Grow Light like Kingbrite with already addes UVs and IRs. And far cheaper and you can rotate each single bar to achieve a better uniform coverage. Just my 2 Cents

glass house food producers have known about UV deficiency for a while, without UV plants don't pro duce certain proteins and their brix levels (sap sugar), which indicates plant health will be lower. This makes them a target for pests because they can't defend themselves properly. So yes UV is important, not just in flower but in veg too. Bruce was only talking about THC or cannabinoid levels I'm pretty sure but even so, he's wrong. Lots of growers have done their own side by side comparisons and sent their flower in for testing and proved it works on some genotypes. It's kept hush hush by many of the growers in the know so they can get a leg up on the competition. Also professional studies have been done by researchers other than Bruce and they found it had an effect.

Ok correct me if I'm wrong but 700watts and you still need to include IR, FR and UV supplemental lighting as well? For a 4x4 space now you're running high temps and getting close to 1000watts..... Sounds like a scam when you can go full circle back to a tested and proven 600w DE CMH that has a higher PPFD (1200+) rating and comes with an ACTUAL full spectrum out of the box without the need for supplemental lighting... at a higher efficiency and lower wattage and LOWER COST upfront and ongoing.

@@jteach9124 In the video the total cost of the LED (FC6500) and the supplemental lighting is close to $800USD. Total power usage is nearly 900w at the wall. I'm just saying that with a 600W HPS and a 315W CMH in the vented hood/cooltube setup would cost less overall and get better results. You could also just use a 630w DE CMH in a 4x4 to achieve very similar results minus the red spectrum and save ALOT of money.
