Safety is important yes, but wearing safety glasses, when dealing with a fully cladded fibre cable and a VFL is liking wearing your seat belt whilst parked in a garage. Sure if you are cleaving a fibre cable, it might be best wearing glasses, but not when just plugging a connector in
