My experience is you will find the heaviest concentration of dust on the Rear of the Vehicle as well as the Rear Fenders & Back Deck...

Air brush thinner is a good substitute for fixer. Dampen the area with thinner. Then load pigment on your brush and tap it over the wet area. This technique is good for random mud splashes on road wheels.

You have told me in a few minutes what I wanted toknow about applying pigments' to my miniatures, from Hours of Searching and listening to BS Tutorials. TY Ole Boy! Love from an American!lolGreat tutorial.

You mention that you don't need to use pigment binder on the flat surfaces if you use a spray varnish. Does that rule still apply with paint-on varnishes? Should those varnishes be applied differently if there is pigment on the model?
@ShipWreck686 жыл бұрын
I use terpenoid to fix it to the model. I find it works better than pigment binder if you want the pigment to stay in its original state. Though if you want a caked on look, then the pigment binder fluid is very good for that.

I have seen people use terps but I've not used it myself. How do you find the resilience? A lot of people I've spoken to say it can come away through handling.

Old video, but what mat spray-on varnish would you suggest that I get?

Would usine an airbrush varnish to seal everything in work? Or would the air just end up blowing all the powder away.

I spray my models with Testors Dullcote to seal in my paintjobs, so could I ignore the binding stage and let the pigments be bound to the model with dullcote, or would that end badly?
@Ally.Cat.2523 жыл бұрын
How does that effect your metallic paints?
@jackdeily86153 жыл бұрын
@@Ally.Cat.252 While it does say on the side of the dullcote can not to use for sealing mettallics, I have never actually noticed any loss of luster. I have only used GW and Vallejo metallic paints though, I would advise against using dullcote on more realistic colors, such as Tamiya or Vallejo Metal Color (VMC).

Great video, I've always struggled to make weathering powders work, specifically, been unable to fix them. I've seen recommendations for isopropyl alcohol, and Lahmian Medium. I'll ned to look out for pigment binder.
@PeteTheWargamer6 жыл бұрын
Both of those work well for the initial application but pigment binder is great for keeping the pigment from falling off through use.

So this particular tank (22 Vecors) was originally captured by the Germans following the fall of France but was re-captured by the Allied forces following their invasion of France. Many tanks like this that were still in working order were put to use by the Free French forces and so were repainted using colours common to the Allied vehicles at the time. This included the Olive Drab paint work and white identification stars. This particular tank was involved in the siege of La Rochelle in 1945, there's also a picture of it here: www.ww2incolor.com/french/Char+B1+bis+vercors.html
