How to use Wiser Smart Heating

Does the wiser room thermostat give boost option i.e. 1 hour/2 hour override function when heating is off.

Can you control/boost hot water from the hub or stay or is it only possible via the wiser app

I keep turning off the schedule that seems to appear automatically every day of the week. Is there a way I can permanently switch the schedules off without it reappearing again?

Can I just have TRVs upstairs and have the downstairs set as one zone using the thermostat? Reason being is I cannot access my radiators downstairs as they are behind built it covers. It's all open plan so happy to have as I've done.

If you've got smart TRVs on all upstairs rads but not downstairs then yes, in theory you can do that. Any rads without a TRV will come on when the heating is on so your downstairs will warm up all the time if heating is "on". This could be controlled by the stat as "downstairs". Then have all the other rooms upstairs labeled and have those turned off. Just be aware that if you don't have a TRV on a rad then it can't be turned off. Hope that makes sense.

Nice video explanation.. however, after being forced off My Ginie onto this new setup I'm not happy about the room thermostat display or lack of it.. The screen with the nice colours etc goes off after a few seconds, surely they could have had just the temperature showing like the old LCD one? Second problem now resolved.. I couldn't set this up using my iPhone 6s.. hub would not connect to the phone, tried all tricks I know forgetting networks etc.. fortunately the Mrs was at home with a more recent iPhone that connected instantly.. once configured my old 6s picked up the setting and the app works.. will have to get a cheap room thermometer off amazon so I can look at the current temperature.. :) i'm not going through an app to do it..

Does the main thermostat control the whole system and operate the trv's or do you have to set the thermostat and the trv?

It depends on how your system is set up My advice would be to look at the Wiser Videos that Drayton at Schneider have posted explaining the system installation and set up. Or give their help desk a call - they are very helpful :-) I run a system with a single channel hub. Wall Stats in rooms with two rads, Wall Stats in bedrooms and just TRV’s in the other rooms. The programming is made via the Wiser app. When a device is added to the system (Wall Stat or TRV) it is allocated to a room The heat programming refers to a room and controls the boiler and the TRV’s for the room the heat is required in The heat demand comes from the TRV OR the Wall Stat if the room has one allocated. Adhoc changes to temperatures can be made via the app or the wall stat. Preset boosts can be requested via the App, the Wall Stat or turning the top of the TRV.

I feel like crying now. 3 months after installing this I still can't figure out heating.The only reason I watched this video was hope that someone will actually show how to set up the automated heating OFF times. I don't have those smart trvs. Just 2 thermostats upstairs and downstairs. When I turn heating on it says it's on 🔥 sign is on. Green light on main wall thingy on but heating not coming on. 😢 tried the override button but that only turned heating downstairs. I'm seriously about to rip the whole thing of the wall and put old timers ⏲️ on. Any ideas? Thanks

Hey sorry to hear you're having difficulties. Just so we're clear, at the moment the stats are NOT controlling the heating at all. BUT if you do an override then the heating does come on but only downstairs?

Hey 👋 I messed around the settings and changed channels ( both thermostats were set to channel 1) now stats control downstairs ( Channel 3) but upstairs still not working ( Channel 1) ... when I press override only downstairs heating comes on. All heating worked absolutely fine up until an hour before installation of the Hub. My electrician didn't touch anything else. So really clueless now. 🤷‍♀️

This whole systems is such a HUGE step back from the original miGenie system - No LCD on the receiver by the boiler, the screen is off on the thermostat, cant adjust settings unless you use the app... list goes on.. Utter rubbish. Only reason I have one is they forced obsolescence of the old system and didnt want to pay for a fresh install of another smart system.
