Tried this tonight and I think pellets are good for making a hot base of coals but honestly putting wood on will give you a longer burn with no need to keep sprinkling pellets

Don't listen to this guy. Tried his way but it only lasted a few mins. Take the middle cone out and fill it halfway up to the top with pellets. Much better results off a 40 lb 8 dollar bag of pellets at Lowes.

If you get that sucker smokin and light the holes at the top and maybe blow air down into the pit to get the flow of smoke going down and the smoke gets burned as it comes out of those holes at the top. It will look like a gas grill with zero smoke and you don't have to add pellets every 5 minutes.

Question, Do you feel the heat down by your lower legs or is it all waste and above live the Solo stove?
@Ncoastjack2 жыл бұрын
There is some radiation around the base of the unit. If we are sitting in chairs around it, we all feel pretty good & warm when it’s cold out.

what size firepit is that? where did you get it? Great video!!!
Buy a pint of 91% ISO alcohol at the store next time and squirt a little around the fire pit circumference... lite and its going... no waiting for flames to build... Enjoy!

Does anyone know what brand of torch/lighter that is?
@Ncoastjack2 жыл бұрын
On Amazon, “AnWoor” is the brand name. The one with the fuel window: “Butane Lighter Long Lighter Refillable Torch Jet Lighter with Visible Fuel Window for Grill BBQ Fireplace”

would you reccomend the tiki brand firepit? does the head emit around the base better than the solo? have you used real logs?
@Ncoastjack2 жыл бұрын
I was surprised at the amount of heat it radiates, mainly when the flame is raging well. I don’t know how it compares to the solo, but I and my guests have had to move back from it because it can get too warm at times, which is a good thing. I have used real logs too, but try not to overdue it with them because I don’t like cleaning up the leftover chunks. The pellets leave a small amount of ash/dust which is just brush down the pits holes and empty the tray every couple weeks. Yes, I recommend it. I think it looks nice, works well, and is priced more affordable if my memory serves me correct.
