Jason I don’t know if you realise exactly how much you helped me this morning with this video. We had a live stream ready to go out and 10 minutes before it went in the production man said to me I can see all your information on your screen such as shutter speed all the normal icons that you get on the back of the camera including the levelling icon. I tried switching it off but I didn’t know how to get rid of them all together in the end I turned to KZbin in a panic and found this video. Scanning quickly through it I found a place where you told us how to turn it off you SAVED MY BACON!!!

DUDE!!!!!! I couldn't find anyone to tell me how to get the camera settings of the stream ... so i went a whole different route for a whole year ( sling studio) ... I had a USB capture card on the self that whole time. Moving from Sling studio and ODS now to Vmix, i finally wanted to stream with my sony A7iii ... You solve a year long issue lol. Thank you for this concise, clear video! I'm up and running using my Sony a6100 and Camlink 4k for live streaming in Zoom. However I need to flip my image for my viewers. I am not using OBS. I understand I can flip the image using OBS. I'm not familiar with OBS. If I use it to flip my live stream image, can I still use it through Zoom with the flipped image?

Hey dude thanks for this guide it helped a lot! Have you ever struggled with your hdmi slipping out of your camera end or the cable being too heavy & breaking the micro connection? Mines all bent within the first 12 hours... the cable is so damn heavy it pulls it down - anyone able to recommend any fix?

This was so helpful! Is there any way I can use my camera (Sony RX100) and then use slides that are on my computer? I do a lot of education and would love to start my videos direct to the camera and then jump to my slides. Previously I used my built-in webcam on my laptop and could screen record from the camera to slides.

I just want to know this because i usally use this as my 2nd camera in photoshootings and if the general durability is getting significantly lowered id buy another camera just for the streaming purposes.

I just got the Sony A73 to work as Webcam with just USB connection. Use the Sony computer software and preview your camera video. Now on OBS just add screen capture. You will have to crop and move some of your screen capture though. A capture card works much better though.

Great video Jason. You got me up and running with my Sony A7RIII. The only thing I can't figure out is how to get the camera settings to disappear from the live feed. It shows the standby, shutter, fstop, and iso settings. Is there any quick fix to that in the menu settings?

Thanks for the tips! I have the Sony a7r II, a new macbook pro, CamLink 4k. OBS doesn't seem to work w/ Zoom. I use Zoom several hours a day, so that's my main use case. When I use Zoom (w/ my above setup), the quality on my end looks incredibly sharp; however, when I test the Zoom quality by using another computer in my house on the same Zoom call, the receiving end doesn't look sharp. I suspect it's because of my cable modem bandwidth (both computers are wired ethernet and get 180 mbps down and 18 mbps up). Do you have any suggestions? e.g., perhaps lowering the camera's quality to 720 or 24 fps would result in a smaller video to transmit, and thus less room for Zoom to use its own compression and degrade the quality?

Thank you for the video, great stuff. For those interested using the camera for live streaming or simply skype, zoom, etc, and not just video capture, you do need to consider a dummy battery for a power solution, otherwise your camera will run out of battery in the middle of it. Cheers.

As capture cards are sold out everywhere, it would be great if Sony could release software to use the mirror less cameras as webcams. They already have live feed on the remote software so it definitely should be possible to just make it output as a webcam without having to resort to OBS and capturing the screen in low quality. Especially as Canon already made this work on their cameras.

They sort of do. You can use your micro USB and Sony imagin edge software with the remote app. The only issue that I can not overcome is keeping the camera charged while streaming. Since this method required the micro USB to be used as data. This means the USB power supply charge function no longer works while the camera is turned on.
