in the first week of playing apex, I watched a bunch of tutorials on different movements, including this video, and started practicing, and finally, after a month playing game, I almost got replicating NEO strafing from this video! (and my g305 wheel does not have long to live xdd) it seems to me that this is the most difficult movement techniqueif if you want do it without loss of momentum, except for superglide without CFG at 200+ fps

Just a question not sure if ull ever see this but do you use your middle finger on the scroll wheel? From my understanding it seems to be the reason people are able to do this while shooting. I use my index finger on the wheel and the mouse button so its hard for me to shoot and strafe at the same time. If u do use your index finger, how did u manage to do this while shooting?

it’s possible to shoot with index with guns like the mastiff or pk since they have down time so u can strafe > shoot and while it’s reloading u strafe again. I had to learn middle finger scroll for auto guns. Hope this helps :)

Hey, isn't this chaining of RAS strafing also called figure 8 strafing? Or is figure 8 a whole other variation of lurch strafing? I've heard about this term very often, but no one on KZbin seems to have covered the topic of figure 8 strafing, so while playing around with RAS chaining I got a strafing pattern that is very similar to the one of figure 8, although I am not sure

Gruic covered figure 8 strafing and to my knowledge its chaining forward RAS's together but with the added S inputs to make a figure 8 rather than just going forward. The naming of things is rough because its all so similar with slight variations :P

It’s Up for jump and down for W. The backwards strafe involves no S scroll. Just the “A>S>D and W scroll in between S>D

I know this video is old now, ish, how do you know if you have successfully done a ras strafe? I'm new and want to learn it. I go in 3rd person mode to practice. Sometimes my legend will have sharp movements and other times very dull lol.

Ras strafing is basically moving left to right or right to left in the air so the sharper that horizontal movement the better. Also if you can slide after a standing still jump ras strafe that’s another indicator u were sharp while keeping speed to carry into the slide.

I don’t think so because that will do both jump and tap strafe at same time but for this movement you need to do them separately so you can time the inputs. :)

after leaving the ground with jump or after a wall bounce you have .4 seconds to input these moves since that’s how big your lurch window is. You gotta input them quickly after leaving the ground or after bouncing off a wall etc. Hope this helps!

I think they are all really good and test the limits of the lurch mechanics but when it comes to live game it’s all about consistency which figure 8 and zig zags do really well especially at higher speeds with octane and maggie :)
