How To Vaccinate Your Pup or Dog and Save Money

should the vaccine still be cold when you administer it to the puppy or should you w8 for room temperature before you give it?

Good Question! The temperature does not make any difference. For the pups comfort however not being ice cold would be more comfortable. Generally we take the vaccine out of the refrigerator first, layout all the supplies, get their records organized then fill the syringe. By then the vaccine has warmed up some. The amount of liquid is very small and handling the bottle with your hands also warms it a little.

Does the needle have to be in all the way?

It would depend on the length of the needle. A very short needle may have to go in all the way. A long needle all the way in could go past the skin into the neck (not good). You don't want to inject into the skin itself as that will cause a lump of the vaccine in the skin which will take a very long time to be absorbed and feel uncomfortable for the pup.You want the injection to be between the skin and the neck muscles.

We use "SOLO-JEC Canine 5 Plus". There are other brands and ones that include 7 different diseases plus lymes and other aliments. Check with your vet to see what diseases are in your area. You don't need to inoculate for diseases that are not in your geographically region.
