Daniel, I am in complete agreement with your assessment!!! I am a 58YO man who never got married and I have never lived with a woman and I don't have any crumb snatchers and I lived alone for more than thirty years. I was never ashamed of this however, I never admitted it. I do not have the mental or emotional capacity to deal with a female and a child on a daily basis. That is just too much work. I remember my mama was telling me when I was a teen that marriage is the hardest job you will ever have. So I told her, if I'm going to be working that hard I better be getting paid. (followed by a slap upside my head) She would know, she was married to my pops for fifty-seven years until death did them part!!! I can look back over my life and I can unequivocally say that I have never fought or argued with a woman. The slightest bit of drama a woman gives me I let her go. I have been living alone so long I am spoiled rotten to the core.

Mechanically, it's admiration + sympathy.** Merge those two together, you get love. When you have love for someone, your actions towards and involving that someone reflect what Devon's talking about here. **This is why love is so misunderstood. It's 2 emotions combined, not a single emotion. It's also why love IS NOT ENOUGH. There's an additional component needed in a relationship: RESPECT. What brings about Respect? Admiration (sound familiar?) and FEAR - of what? Consequences - even if it's just fear of losing the person, that's still a potential consequence. This is why men simply _walking away_ is so effective.

One thing that stood out and have heard elsewhere in a different way is at 2:00.50. never angle for a relationship. That is play the long game.. vet a women before you commit. Some people just smash and think they're in love as she's hot. You set the tone and control the pace. If you jump in too soon and invest cause she said she loves you and want to be your girlfriend at week 3. Then you may find out there in a few months when you're both invested that she's totally not for you.

All time great episode. The way Devon talks about their relationship makes me think they're capping! It's sad how intersexual relations have decayed to the point where a healthy relationship that would have been considered normal 3-4 generations ago is now interpreted as too good to be true lol.
