Wow! It's gratifying to know Celestron is STILL innovating. My 1981-vintage Celestron C8 is STILL plugging away. As with everyone, I look with envy at the ways to MOUNT my old scope to make it more useful. However...it's been my computers and astronomical software that have been my observing partners over the years. In fact...a new mount can wait....😆🤣

I remember steeping outside my house in the late 1990's and was awed by the hale bopp comet. It was clear and bright and so easy to find and I live in a big NE city. This looks like it won't even come close to that amazing comet named hale bopp.

When showing things to non-stargazers, aim at you target. Then lower the binocular vertically, and see what landmark you hit at the horizon. At that point all you have to do is tell your friend, hey, look at that tree or that chimney, and raise the binocular vertically, slow, till you see your target.

0:38, actually according to COBS, the comet shines at a mind bigging - 3.2. This is due to forward scattering of light.

Right now it's still close to the sun, so just above the sun's twilight glow when looking west at sunset.

It’s time to update your app to work with the native resolution of iPhones. At a certain point Apple will just remove it from the App Store and we will lose a key functionality of our telescopes. Come on Celestron!

Its apple they are so overwhelming overrated. Androids are far more better they are more advanced phones more customizable features samsung makes the best phones on planet Earth they don't restrict the software license like Apple does so that's main reason why it's difficult to move software to iPhone, companies have to jump thru hoops to make their apps work on ios vs Android. Companies don't have the Apple license to deal with so on Android apps will always work better. My best advice just stay away from iphones they don't change anyway they always release a new phone every year that looks identical to the the previous they don't change anything just add a feature or two with no customizable options of course.

Close to the horizon, nearly directly west, just after sunset. It'll only be 5 degrees above the Sun (a couple fingers' width on your outstretched arm) on the 11th, and a bit higher than that each night afterwards (but it will get more dim).

Do we know if it will be in the southern sky, northern sky, etc. (from Northern hemisphere)? Or is it unknown and could be anywhere?

@@mgman6000 bro the cobs site was updated, dropped from -4.9 on the coronagraph to -2.5 I believe with x80 binoculars. The coma also dropped from 37’ to 20’ so hopefully by the time it shows it’ll be back again :(
