I was hoping to visit the island August 2023 during a trip to Manila, however, unfortunately I found out the old tour company had closed down. I didn't know about your KZbin videos at the time. It was during a trip to the Subic Bay area in 2019 that I first became interested in visiting this island. I'm watching this video now after your interview with Mike Retirement. Thank you.

OMG! I can't believe villa Carmen still in business. My dad used to rent one of the villas there in the late 70s and early 80s when Mariveles opened factories from US and Europe. My dad was sent by his UK Employer to run and managed their new factory.... I might take him take back there next year. 🙂

Thanks for the tips! I’m going to Manila in 2 weeks and was looking to book a trip to the island. I just emailed the Corregidor Foundation to see if they have availability.
@GarandGuy25532 жыл бұрын
The Corregidor Now Foundation looks like it is offering trips from Manila on their Camaya Ferry Voyager or atleast that’s what it says. I just shot them a message to see if this is available.

@@kevinsoundmixer so you did a 3+ bus ride to Bataan from Manila? What are the options there?
@kevinsoundmixer2 жыл бұрын
@@GarandGuy2553 Hi! I cheated in the graphics a little bit! I took a bus from Manila (Cubao) to Angeles and then met up with friends who drove me the rest of the way 😬 But I am assuming there are buses to bring you to Mariveles.

Thank you for this video Sir, may i ask how long does it take for the boat from Mariveles going to Corregidor Island?
@kevinsoundmixer Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching! It's a very quick trip, maybe less than 30 minutes? Depends on the sea conditions and your boat speed 🙂

The Phil. gov't should develop Corregidor Island for its Bureau of Prisons. The Mile-long Barracks can be repaired to house the PDLs (Persons Deprived of Liberty). Other buildings can be repaired for admin personnel. The island is very easy to secure against escapes, drug manufacture and trafficking. And plenty of farmland for PDLs to engage in food production (vegetables, poultry, piggery etc.). Plus its tourist attractions.
@kevinsoundmixer2 жыл бұрын
That's an interesting idea. I never thought of that. And maybe some of the responsibilities of the PDLs could be assisting with the upkeep and maintenance of the island? From grass cutting to tree trimming to trail clearing, etc. The vegetation is always threatening to choke out the important history here.
