My wife I and drove from Chicago to Moab in February 2021. Couldn’t stand being locked up at home because of the pandemic. This was the best spur of the moment decision and trip we have ever made. Visited Arches park on Valentines Day and then visited Canyon Lands the next day before sunrise. Parks were empty. Such a beautiful trip. On the way home, visited friends in Breckenridge, Co.

Super Bowl Sunday is the absolute best time to visit Zions . The weather usually is mild and the park is basically empty. You can dive the shuttle route since they aren’t running at that time of year. I honestly wouldn’t do arches any later than April as the temperature is perfect!

Hi, nice video. Do you need a 4WD or AWD vehicle to follow your route? Or A FWD minivan with good tires is enough? Thanks
@KevinEassa9 ай бұрын
For the mighty 5 parks you can take any tiny sedan. The places that need awd or 4WD specifically, I note in the video per location. Marlboro point would be a no, maybe temple of the sun and moon, others like hanksville factory butte you shouldn’t have any issues. Hope this helps!

looking foe some advice , we are 65 years old avid hikers going to do a 5 parks 10 day trip in October. Can you reconmend trails for us ? Thank you
@KevinEassa4 ай бұрын
Most of the trails in here! One of the best parts about the Mighty 5 NP's is that there are an endless number of trails that are shorter 1-3 mile hikes and also plenty of places that you don't even need to hike at all. Some off of the top of my head - Double Arch, Park Avenue, Schaffer Trail Overlook, Mesa Arch, any viewpoint in Bryce, Temple of the Sun/Moon, Hickmann Bridge, Zion Canyon Overlook, Zion River Walk/Narrows

not sure if you're around to read this Kevin but i had a question. Do any of the parks require a pass besides the one you stated? or any of the trails?
@KevinEassa4 ай бұрын
The Federal National Parks Pass is the one we get every single year, it's good for all of the Mighty 5 National Parks. It is also good at some National Monuments and other places around the country. Utah state parks you pay for the day separate from the federal pass, or if you are going to visit enough of them there is a 'Utah State Park annual pass.' Most trails you are good to go. But certain trails you do need a permits (examples: Angel's Landing, The Subway). Hope this helps!

Definitely! But some national parks have special parking for RVs longer than 22 or 25 feet, so just something to be aware of. But tons of people do this in an RV

No footage of drones in the national park here! Just national forests/BLM. And permits in the state parks

@@KevinEassa I've come to realize, that whenever you see beautiful scenery and plan on taking some aerial shots of it, chances are 99% of the time it is not allowed, be it federal, state, local or some business-specific rules that prohibit unmanned aircraft. Most of the time I just lug my drone around with me without ever unpacking it because of the restrictions everywhere. LAME!
@KevinEassa7 ай бұрын
@@goatmototours They definitely don’t make it easy! I wish the permit process was easier for some places. Thankfully there are apps that help guide where you can and can’t. B4Ufly and Autopylot are great tools

After how many days do the views start to loose there magic, after how many days are you like, okay, more cool rocks, seen this 100 times already. Did this happen after day 5, day 7? I watched someone's 8 day itinerary and they were like , Arches, blah... but early in the itinerary, they were gaga over things that didn't look nearly as nice. I was planning on spending 3 weeks doing the big 5, but now I am second guessing my decision and wondering if I should consolidate it.
@cynthiam976 Жыл бұрын
As a local Utahn, I can say that these parks never get old. I've been coming to these parks my whole life and I still haven't seen a fraction of what I want to see. And they are very diverse, actually.. It's really hard to get the scope, the beauty, the magic in a video. I would love to have 3 weeks to explore this area even though I've been there so many times. Petroglyphs, dinosaur 🦕 tracks, fossilized sea shells, NASA's secret Mars station in Capitol Reef, and, and.... There's too much to even mention and those are the little bonuses. If I was trying to put in too much mileage too quickly for my first time in heat of summer with the crowds, I might get overwhelmed. If you do your research, This will be a trip of a lifetime!
@lisacentonze10013 ай бұрын
It's going to take you 2 hours to drive from Green River to Canyonlands! And you want to get there for sunrise? That is not reasonable. Better to spend a few extra $ and stay in Moab. Time is precious on vacation.
