I am an Australian that back in 2018 had a Canadian working holiday visa (so basically I could work in Canada). I sometimes watched this channel (still do) for star wars content. I felt I should comment that this video inspired me to plan out a similar road trip, took a little more time (3 weeks) and went a little further. Consider this a thank you. For reference Vegas, Zion (Angels landing + subway), Bryce (peek a boo), Capitol Reef (multiple short hikes), Arches, Canyonlands, Natural Bridges monument, Mesa Verde, Santa Fe (Meow Wolf), El Malpais monument (Lava tube trail?), Grand Canyon south (Horseshoe Mesa but not 100% sure, went down and up 1,000 feet same day), Page (kayaked to the back of Antelope Canyon, no people but no light beams either), St. George, Vegas. Most of my friends then departed, but my girlfriend and I did Death Valley and Mojave desert preserve on our own after having done the above loop.

I'm from Utah and I almost take these things for granted sometimes, it really is amazing. If you ever go back to Zions, I would recommend the Narrows as a good hike. You hike up the river into a canyon and the further up you get, the closer the canyon grows and the less people there are. There was a point where we found a rock to jump off into a really deep part of the river and you can go up so far, it is really fun. What a cool trip!

We just returned from this trip! Prior to going, I didn't even really look up any Grand Circle trips from the past, but instead I just made a map and then later found out that it was almost identical to said trip. One difference that we did that is really close and really spectacular is to head to Durango after Moab and ride the Narrow Gauge Railroad steam train from Durango to either Silverton or Cascade Canyon. It was amazing! Also, you get the bonus of Mesa Verde (the Cliff Dwellers) and Four Corners.

I'm English,14, and have been to Vegas, The Grand Canyon and Monument Valley. They were amazing, by far the best trip I have ever been on. Makes me wish I live in America. I went in the exact spot at Monument Valley where Forest Gump was filmed and where you went. That feels so weird. I stayed on both the North and South rim of the Grand Canyon and the North Rim is way better. Quieter and surprisingly green. So glad I went on it.

If anyone sees this I would definitely recommend going to the North Rim instead of the South Rim. I've been to both of the Rim's and the North Rim is way less busy than the South Rim. I worked over at the North Rim over last Summer of 2019 from June to October. The scenery is beautiful. You have Point Imperial and Cape Royal along seeing Angel's Window. North Rim is in high elevation so be prepared. Drink lots of water. Nice video! I've been to all of those National Parks and Monument Valley except Canyonlands. They're all beautiful!

Sadly, the Observation Point Trail from the canyon floor was completely obliterated by a MASSIVE rockfall in August 2019. It was a miracle nobody was [edit: seriously] injured. The footage from Angels' Landing is jaw-dropping. If it's rebuilt at all, it will likely take years. Work hasn't even started yet as of spring 2020 as the park service is still evaluating the stability of the area. You can still get to the point, but it's a rather flat boring hike (by comparison) that starts already at the top. I'd appreciate a pin for people trying to make plans for the forseeable future. Thanks. Adam from Moab.

I live in northern Utah, and have been to most of the Utah parks; but have yet to go Lake Powell or the Grand Canyon. I am sure the mountains we have are pretty crazy compared to the flatlands in Florida! If you want another western trip with small crowds, visit the Great Basin region here in Utah/Nevada. You can head out from Salt Lake, drop down to Delta and see the Topaz Museum, head out to the Great Basin National Park, on to Ely and the Nevada Northern Railway, then off across the "loneliest road in America" until you get to west Nevada. From there, head up to Virginia City, Carson City, Reno, and then head west into California to visit the Lake Tahoe and Truckee regions. Lots of small town museums and state parks on the route. You won't really hit crowds until Virginia City and Tahoe.

Really well planned trip on your part. One extra diversion (requires one day) from this would be to leave your route at Blanding, go west to Natural Bridges NM, then south over Moki Dugway to Valley of the Gods loop, and rejoin US 163 near Mexican Hat, Utah and then go through Monument Valley. Moki Dugway is a pretty unique experience. The drive from Blanding to Mexican Hat is meh. The drive from Blanding as I described is MUCH more scenic.
