Our calling in life is to build the kingdom of God here on earth, but we can’t do that if we live of this world feeding the system that abuses the poor. Jesus calls everyone to sell their possessions and to give the proceeds to the needy. Something we all need to learn is what really important in life. We claim to Love God, but deny the poor shelter, food, water, and even a relationship.

If you read about the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30), God has given each of us a unique special set of talents (gifts, abilities, resources). We have a calling to use these talents to advance His will here on earth. @@singaporeancrab718 Glad you asked, the problem I have is that we don't get to heaven or please God by using our abilities or resources. I think it can refer to our spiritual insight on the word of God... I 'd argue that you can't draw doctrine out of the parables, but you use the parable to illustrate your doctrine, thus how you explain the parables reveals what you believe. Jesus thus told people parables to challenge their thinking and reveal what they believe. I would also point out with the talents that the people didn't work to multiply their talents, you can argue that they just took the faith they had and paced is as a bet on Jesus and it multiplied. In the contrary the one who dug a hole in the ground out of fear of losing his talent did the most work. I hope this make you think.
