So refreshing to find someone with proper knowledge of their field, who pays such attention whilst operating that the result turns out as lovely as this! The wallpaper itself caught my aye too though, where did you find it?

Chidoritoka Thank you so much for the kind comment. The wallpaper is indeed very eye catching. Its made by a company called Omexco. You should check out their website. I have hung many of their wallpapers but this particular one is my favourite.

Hi Harry, Great video, how did you prepare the walls before hand did you paint it to match the wallpaper then prime it. would you ever use lining paper? looks a bit of a squeeze .😀
@onceuponawall-harryanstice25294 жыл бұрын
Hello . Thanks for the kind comment. Because it’s a non woven paste the wall wallpaper I didn’t have to line the walls or prime them. I just painted the walls with a matching colour. Then prepped the walls with a watered down solution of the ready mixed wallpaper paste . I only use lining paper when using traditional paste the paper wallpaper. Or when hanging wallpaper on a new freshly plastered wall. All the best H

Wow!! what a stunning paper!! It sounds like sand paper! And what a lovely tiny room!! I saw most of your videos and they are quite easy to understand. I am papering the hall room and it is a tricky room because it has 4 doors, and two of them very close to the corner. The fact is I have an horizontal zig zag pattern paper in white and grey, and I don't know how to finish the room. What can I do if the colors of the last sheet doesn't match with the last one? If I make a double cut, the edge of the zigzag probably wouldn't match with the level line... Can you tell me any tips? Thanks a lot!!

+Sofia Gracia Hello. Thank you for writing to me. I will try my best to answer your question. When you wallpaper a room (however large or small) with a bold patterned wallpaper you will always have a problem matching the pattern when you finish, unless the wallpaper fits the room exactly which is very rare. this problem is always less noticeable with floral patterns. What you have to do when wallpapering the whole room is start from the most insignificant corner for example behind a door probably the door closest to the corner or if the space between the doors and the ceiling is very small that could be the best place to start. Its a challenge to wallpaper a small room with zig zag paper, I hope my advice has been of some use. Regards Harry

Harry...the reason papers are reverse hung is to eliminate shading problems which occur in the production process of wallpaper..especially plain wider coverings...

Pine Mash Thanks for the info :-) You know what. I was 90% sure that that was the reason. But didn't say anything on the video in case I was wrong. I should have asked before I made the video. My mistake. After thirty years as a decorator you still never stop learning. Nice to hear from you again. H

Harry Anstice 38 for me...and still learning!...the most important thing is the desire and willingness to keep learning, lose that and you may as well knock the game on the head..

arfan jhangir : Hello thank you for the kind comment. The wallpaper is by Omexco and is called Mica dark grey. The paste I used was an ordinary non woven ready mixed wallpaper past for heavy vinyl wallpaper. Very best of luck. H

thank you www.wallpapersandborders.co.uk/mica-wallpaper-mca3001-by-omexco-for-brian-yates-27777-p.asp is this the correct one. do you think this is a good paper as a fetaure on the chimney breast in a lounge/living room?
@onceuponawall-harryanstice25297 жыл бұрын
arfan jhangir That's the correct one👍 it should be ok on a chimney breast as long as the chimney is in proportion and doesn't have uneven sides and corners. But check first that you can wallpaper the chimney first. Some countries have rules against that and some don't. Fire and safety etc etc.. Again very best if luck. Don't forget to like my video. That always cheers me up. All the best H

Harry I have seen a million videos where to start paper a room but never one where to finish. ..is there a certain technique how to finish a room?
@onceuponawall-harryanstice25296 жыл бұрын
boaby boy: I know exactly what you mean although I did show in this video the whole process right up to the final drop, which is why this video is so painstakingly long. It would be a good idea to post a video about how to finish wallpapering a room. I will certainly give it some consideration. Thanks for the idea. Regards H
