If you’re radiant and defending bottom lane (night time) there is a spot just near the tower where you can place a ward so you’ll be able to see through the fog of war and initiate properly.

My ally Techies showed me the ward spot at 10:34 and that was goddamned genius. Won't get dewarded easily, still offers highground vision, and also shows the lane.

Defenders gate wards look almost like cheating. Awesome work! Thank you for sharing. I just can add that on dire highground there is a place for a ward between the edge of the map and tower vision range on the top lane (very close to the stairs) that gives crazy amount of vision and a better alternative to a normal ward placed between top and middle towers.

For the Watcher thing: I think we need to see it like a free Ward, so as always, add a sentry, don't only take the watcher, the watcher is already doing the job of the ward (vision) you just need detection and there, you can actually feel safe, also this would counter what 5updota is suggestion (note: not saying that his strategy is bad, just commenting on how to counter if the enemy is doing it)

I think the point is that the enemy can see when you take the watcher. If you don't take it and put a ward, they don't know. This psychology only works as long as it is not expected though. I reckon that soon enough even at the lower level people will adopt this strategy and then putting a sentry on top of the currently relevant watchers will become the dewarding meta and then warding them will be useless. Probably just a matter of time.

No. Because the sentry game got nerfed a lot. Plus people are dewarding cliffs 100 times more then watchers at any point. Because cliffs usually gives way more vision then watched positions.

As a mid player, I try to only keep one word around the five minute mark so I can get the first power rune. Or, sometimes whenever it’s sniper or SF that’s sitting in the fog, high ground that I can use to pull the lane, I may get award a little earlier. If you don’t have vision and can’t pull the way back, you’re going to have a bad time Ed.

Depends what ur playing. In some matchups its really good to not have a ward on mid so the enemy cant pull the wave because you dont have highground vision.

Great video. At this point, the map is so big that I think getting a gem past20 min is the only way to actually deward one side of the map. Then start playing hot potato in team fights with the gem

1:50 is the wrong way to think about it. What you do is warp to the opposite lane and plant the ward there since that scouts both warp usage and outpost teleports.

That's the point on dire. People usually atleast in high MMR games don't go this way. They go for the left way because it's not like on radiant that you can just walk through the trees that easily.

3 Mins but if you place a ward on the tree position then the tree doesn't respawn until the ward is out👍

Heavily underrated vid, tho' what rank do you think this starts being more useful? (the deeper warding at least) Cause I've still been playing around on a new acc in unranked pubs atm as I'm a returning player from 3 yrs ago and ppl barely remember to take bounties atm, lol. Like, until certain ranks at least, I expect folks to be so blind that they don't make use of the vision you set-up for 'em, also making those deep wards where you put yourself at risk putting down, haha.

Not 100% sure but I think if u place a ward plus a sentry, the tree will not comeback for 7 min. (Sentry duration)

maybe it's ok to ward cliffs sometimes like if you don't think the other team expected you to be able to get to an area (maybe you smoked or were able to get to a risky spot early and unexpectedly). since there are less sents available overall you can get away with it sometimes. esp if there are invis heros on your team. i dunno im not a high level player though so maybe that's why in my lower bracket i think this

Great video! Since some of this ward spots require cutting down trees, should you as a pos5 or 4 support buy a Quelling Blade at some point into the game and keep it only for that reason?

Depends on you. You can go for it but its not a must every game. For example im playing a lot of heroes that can destroy trees so the quelling is kinda ussles :D

If you plan on doing these kind of wards in any game u can actually go quelling every game. It's not expensive and it also helps you out push or farm waves.

A ward for mid is necessary because the waves meet in a low-ground.

I am not saying that a midward is bad. But in most of the matchups u dont really want a mid ward so the enemy cant pull ur wave. And im sure its not necessary every single game^^

Because your creeps can see the enemy and If he aggros on you or your teammates the creeps will follow him. If there is no ward the creeps will not aggro and stay in the low ground. And u can abuse that in some matchups a lot.

They do regrow after 3 min. But if you put a sentry on the place of the tree then the tree will not grow back until the ward is gone👍
