Thanks. To be honest, whilst electric blankets are a fantastic invention for cold weather when it comes to cleaning them, this has probably been the biggest manufacturing oversight in them and if someone could come up with something as a standard for all of them that would make washing them it a piece of cake, they would make a fortune because as you said yourself, water and electricity don't mix so one would have thought that the makers would have come up with a much better way of allowing users to wash them safely without having to employ too much thought behind it. I mean, yes, with a bit of common sense, it will be fine but really, something like this ought to be made idiot-proof due to the health and safety element of them, we are talking about an electrical product here all said and done. They shouldn't presume that everyone in the population is smart enough to work these things out and it's not even just about being smart, even someone intelligent could make the understandable mistake of thinking that this has already been factored in by the makers and they might just go ahead and wash it without thinking they need to take any precautions. Best wishes.

I have an electric blanket that has coils inside. Do i removed the coils to wash it?
@CleanWithConfidence
@CleanWithConfidence 4 жыл бұрын
Nope, all you need to do is unplug the power cord from the blanket. If you are second guessing though, just check the product care label on the blanket itself.

No best not to. Instead can use vinegar in spray bottle , mist n let dry. Works as a disinfectant n softener! No smell is left but can use Febreze after.

You said 2 minutes for washing but you didn’t say about how long is appropriate for rinse and spin. In my washer rinse and spin takes longer than 2 minutes. Wouldn’t that damage the blanket?
@CleanWithConfidence
@CleanWithConfidence 4 жыл бұрын
No it will be ok, you just let it go one cycle on spin and rinse.

THIS WAS MY VERY 1st Purchase ever buying a Heated Blanket..I feel the pain NOW! $$$$ Customer Service is no help..I explained to her that the instructions doesn't tell the consumer how to disconnect power from the blanket power connector itself so that it can be washed. I explained to her that you have to have a 3rd hand to try and hold the long side clips and another to try and pull... I asked her if SUNBEAN have a video that would SHOW ME how to disconnect it. She insisted on reading off a piece of paper in her presence. I asked her again..she would not answer the question. NOW I understand, by reading alot of reviews that it Really has to be hand washed. That's What They don't want you to know. A company well known for Electrical Products Should know better than that.

The kind of blanket I have has 2 small buttons on the side of the cord attachment that you press and it releases the cord for detachment.
