Thanks. To be honest, whilst electric blankets are a fantastic invention for cold weather when it comes to cleaning them, this has probably been the biggest manufacturing oversight in them and if someone could come up with something as a standard for all of them that would make washing them it a piece of cake, they would make a fortune because as you said yourself, water and electricity don't mix so one would have thought that the makers would have come up with a much better way of allowing users to wash them safely without having to employ too much thought behind it. I mean, yes, with a bit of common sense, it will be fine but really, something like this ought to be made idiot-proof due to the health and safety element of them, we are talking about an electrical product here all said and done. They shouldn't presume that everyone in the population is smart enough to work these things out and it's not even just about being smart, even someone intelligent could make the understandable mistake of thinking that this has already been factored in by the makers and they might just go ahead and wash it without thinking they need to take any precautions. Best wishes.

Lol where, the blanket is porous Not plastic 🤪 So long as the heating element themselves aren’t damaged with wires broken. Never bent n sit anything heavy on it.

I wish Sunbeam would make an electric blanket that completely detached the electrical wires from the fabric. Can it be done. It takes an engineer to do it. It can be done.
