To do this, first sprinkle some diesel on the bitumen and after about half an hour, start washing the tanker with a brush and gasoline. There was a pit in the ground under the tanker it is possible it did. I did interior tanker cleaning we had a pit in the middle than was pumped to an on site treatment plant before it went to the county wastewater treatment plant.

Yeah sure use gasoline to wash off the asphalt then wash both the gas and asphalt down the drain . That would cost you about a $15 million fine from the EPA in the USA

That was exactly what i was thinking. Normally it should flow in 2 separators. One to allow the mud an dirt to drop to the bottom of it an the other one to separate the oil from the water.

Just a Couple of questions from someone who lives in Scandinavia, a much colder climate. Is it really posible to haul Bitumen in a non-insulated tanker in Iran? And why does the UN-Number on the trailer say it is hauling petrol, since that is obviously not the case?

@@washtime-truck1156 Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. Perhaps it's an old gasoline tanker now used for bitumen, i think it would be a nightmare to clean the tanks inside, when changing from bitumen to gasoline. Up here in the colder climate bitumen is allways transported in insulated tanker trailers and kept heated in tanks at the asphaltplant. If the heater fails for an extended time, it's not possible to pump the bitumen to the asphalt mixer. Back in the 90's we used oil remover to clean the trucks from asphalt and bitumen but that prevented the oil-water separator from working properly. Nice to see and hear how it's done in different places around the world.

The saying goes that "you can't make something clean without making something else dirty". So They wash this truck with gasoline and diesel fuel, then wash everything with a pressure washer..... where is this gasoline/diesel mixture going? My bet is it isn't being treated in any way and ends up in streams and waterways making it someone else's problem. Pretty irresponsible.

Nice rinse, but it's definitely not washed. At the end of the video you can see that the car is dirty and most importantly wash the fuel tank full of oil and diesel and without rinsing with the same sponge wash straight cabin. Thank you, but I would never put my car here. This is just a cheap and quick rinse. And especially to wash with a mix of gasoline and diesel? In 2022, when there are various preparations already for washing.

Gasoline? I always carry a jug of diesel to loosen up any asphalt that I may drip on the roof close to the hatch and then use a scraper and rag to finish up. Never had such a large area like this that needed cleaning. Anyone suggest I try gas instead?

I hate working with liquid asphalt, and tack. Super hard to clean off. We use citrol/diesel, no gasoline. Good job on cleaning the trailer! I never thought about using a brush to help agitate it

I cannot see the logic of starting pressure washing from the bottom and working to the top? The oily residues as you go up the bodywork and tank will just run over the cleaned lower parts and make them dirty again. Need an emulsifier to help break down and remove the oils and bitumen, detergent and preferably hot or warm water.

@@washtime-truck1156 If you did this in the US, you would have to pull the truck into a contained system that would capture all the water that comes off the truck. Plus you would never be allowed to use gasoline to spray on the truck. That is highly volatile, and the fumes are horrible to breath. All water would have to be captured and treated has hazardous waste. You can't just allow gasoline and oil to just seep into the ground. I used to powerwash equipment at a company that serviced gas stations. Had to quit because the EPA was making everyone use self contained systems recycling the water, and proper disposal of that water at a waste management facility. Plus hazmat suits and respirators to wear due to the chemicals flying around during spraying. What you did leaves a TOXIC mess on the ground that would have to be removed to a hazmat approved facility for treatment. According to EPA standards. ZIP WAX is just as effective removing oil or gas based materials from equipment, and is WAY SAFER than using gasoline.

When washing with the nozzle, start from the bottom and work your way to the top. Do this after you apply the soap. Will allow the product to soak in properly

I completely disagree, in this case leaving the product to soak for an extra minute or two is going to make absolutely no difference when a full contact clean has been done anyway. Going bottom to too also takes much longer to rinse off using much more water.
