I didn’t know that about the cold water. Thank you for sharing 😊

I feel very blessed to be able to buy fresh eggs from a nearby neighbor. Thanks for this info although I rarely clean eggs from them. Yesterday I got a few that look like they need to be cleaned.

Beautiful eggs! When I get way too many to use or sell, I will scramble or boil and give them back to the chickens.

Thank you! I usually boil them up and mash them shell and all if they come to me with dirt on them.

Someone just gave me some clean appearing, eggs from their personal chickens. I don't see any debris and don't know how they were handled. However, I worry about bacteria. How is it that only warm water does the trick?
@wildheavenfarms8 ай бұрын
Colder water than the inside of the egg will cause bacteria to be pulled into the egg through the shell. Warmer water does not.
@FortunateSon8 ай бұрын
@@wildheavenfarms I got that. I’m just saying how does warm water alone deal with the potential bacteria?
@wildheavenfarms8 ай бұрын
@@FortunateSon I wouldn’t worry too much about it, the bloom keeps bacteria from entering the shell. Just don’t eat the eggs undercooked and wash your hands after cracking. Oh and don’t eat the shell! 😉

@@FortunateSonI don't worry about it, yet your question has made me realize that I could let them sit in colloidal silver that I make & use for a large variety of things. ☮️💞🙏

I feel like a dope. I just purchased silicone egg scrubbers. A nail brush would be easier!!

Why don’t you use soap? Does it harm the eggs?
@wildheavenfarms3 ай бұрын
@@artelisx I just follow the guidelines set out by the USDA. I worry soap would penetrate the shell. They are porous.

But there is an another layer inside the eggs. Won't it protect the egg from being contaminated? I really wonder about it!@@wildheavenfarms
@wildheavenfarms2 ай бұрын
@@mdzafar2482 the inner membrane is selectively permeable. When the egg is warmer than the water you wash with, water(and soap) along with any bacteria on the outer shell get sucked inside.
@lydiabeachy4668Ай бұрын
@@wildheavenfarmswhat about something like vinegar? Would that penetrate as well? Or be useful with cleaning?
