How good is it to find alternative methods that aren't exhausting, and enjoyable too! At the event, shame on the judges, Henry was by far the most alert and attentive of them all. And his sheer elegance and self-possession...those judges need glasses, or new ones to replace their old ones. Such a shame to have a winner right under (or not far from) their noses and not be able to see (or comprehend) it. Henry, you will always be a 1st Prize winner to me. Gretchen

Henry doesn't need a first place badge from some competition because he's already a winner. He's got a happy life with loving owners. What more could a horse wish for. 🏇👍

Henry, Winnie and Flora seem like such well behaved horses, so calm and willing. They are all gorgeous. Mira did a good job; she and Henry deserved a blue ribbon, because he's worth it.

A much easier way to wash feathers if you happen to have an ocean handy! Meanwhile I will have to get our boys used to the pressure washer.

It depends completely on how close it is to the horse. Of course you need to be careful, but just don't get too close and it's a great tool.

You shouldn't use a power washer especially around the legs
@WayOutWestx28 жыл бұрын
+benn hanna why?
@sarahschaefer92918 жыл бұрын
+WayOutWest Blowinblog it's extremely bad for their skin and tendons on the leg. using it on the hoof below the coronary band is fine though. you have some gorgeous horses by the way :)
@WayOutWestx28 жыл бұрын
we only showed it to demonstrate how we used to wash his legs - but now we take them all to the sea. But really our power washer is not at all powerful and you can see how careful we were with it. (We're not silly!)
@sarahschaefer92918 жыл бұрын
My bad, I'm pretty much only use to the high powered pressure washers. Unfortunately I have no access to the sea (I wish I did it's gorgeous over there!) so I just use the hose. I tried a low power pressure washer on my gypsy not too long ago and it worked great!

If you wash the feathers with a special whitening shampoo, it's purple, then dry and chalk up the feathers, they are really pristine white :)

Looks like dish soap. That'll dry out the hair.... If your horse can tolerate it i'd suggest setting his foot in a bucket of water with shampoo and wash away. So much easier.

I wouldnt recomend using dish soap for horses since their skin is rly sensitive... please dont do it...
@WayOutWestx25 жыл бұрын
We wouldn't recommend it either - but not because of any reaction we had from the horses (we never had any), but because sea water is much better.
@zivarozej27535 жыл бұрын
@@WayOutWestx2 i totaly get it ;) but i have experienced problems with my horse because i used normal horses shampoo (she has rly sensitive skin) but every horse is difdrent tho😂 its obious that henry isnt in pain (if he was he wouldnt let you do that) but yes i totaly agree with sew water method since its easy and fun. My sisters horse got injured but it healed with sea water :)
