We need a video with ideas on how to wash the bike for those of us who live in an apartment in the city and don't have a garden available. And cleaning on the terrace is not an option because then all the grit would fall down onto our neighbor's (that wouldn't be nice). So our only option left is using the bathtub?

I tend to not trust product placement videos as essentially there just adverts to sell you products and not the best for advice . Personally pressure washing is a no , water displacer is more effective than a rag on a chain. I liked the brushes tho .

I’ve got the Worx Hydroshot in my van with a 30litre water bottle off the works drinks cooler. Works a treat. My version came in its own tool box which is perfect for the van.

Just picked up my first full sus bike and have been watching a ton of GMBN vids on all kinds of tips & tricks. I knew that washing/lubing would be the most routine maintenance, so I appreciate yall for making a proper walkthrough. After I am finished washing my bike I put it in front of a fan to blow dry off the remaining moisture and then put the protection on after that, it helps stop rust forming in bolt heads and that sort of thing.

I have a pressure washer for my car (which I sold for a bike actually lol) and I almost never use it on my bikes because they just don’t get dirty enough! Maybe that’s what I’m doing wrong lol It’s hard not to be enthusiastic about a pressure washer though. I would avoid spraying the crank and head bearings directly though.

Should have added something about WD water displacement on drivetrain before lubing, and brake cleaner to decontaminate the rotors and pads after splashing crap on them 🤪 You can also shield the rotors while you're cleaning the bike. Front wheel comes off easy and can be put aside, or you can use shower caps or a plastic sheet with a small cutout that you slide behind the rotor.

It is but when you have a fan base watch a video of someone use a pressure washer, they'll come up with excuses like the Hydroshot is way less PSI etc. a garden hose is all you need.

water is fine just make sure to dry chain properly and then relube it and avoid spraying the bearings

Boil a rusty chain. Turn that oxide black. It hardens it an protects it from rusting further. "Slow bluing"

brakes will squeal because of the water, its completely normal and goes away after some normal riding

If brakes still squeal after there dry out clean disc and pads with disc brake cleaner. If still squealing give your pads a light sanding with sand paper and keep them flat on sand paper . Use a fine wet sanding paper . Works for me .

And using the same brush he just cleaned the front suspension with to clean up the rear brake? Definitely trusting that soap to remove any contamination, even with rinsing in-between. Also, brushing the cassette without anything between it and the rear brake disk, so all the brush hairs fling oil and dirt on there? Ballsy.

Must be convenient to use chemicals. If I wash bike on my driveway with anything else but cold water, police will come and give me a ticket. If I take my bike to car wash and start taking wheels off, carwash owner complains and tells me to leave. Germany sux sometimes.

The square Peaty's brush is designed for the tyres, not the drivetrain. The small narrow brush is for the drivetrain.
