Lol yeah ,right! Mind you these cars aren't exactly... "affordable " for most people. Those that do get them though if you can afford it get the messaging seats. That's the one option that I left out of my car and I REGRET IT! Oh and the rear cooling seats.

I'm surprised too, I wonder if they're trying to do their own thing rather than work with an established platform. We noticed the Cadillac had a few music apps built-in, but nothing like Netflix or KZbin. You'd think they'd want to offer something like that, get people interested in paying for that 4G connection in their car.

You can just hook up PlayStation in the Escalade and play video games and Netflix and every other app.i have the platinum Escalade and that’s what I did and it works really well

We have a 2019 Escalade with only center overhead screens in the 2nd & 3rd rows (no headrest monitors). Can Roku be used in this circumstance (have you even attempted it on a premium luxury model)? And if not then why is there an HDMI port? Thanks for your help!

It should work better on the Escalade, as we tested it on that and I had less issues with it than I did with the CT6.

I believe in Japan you could have gotten older cars with TV signals that would play even when driving, I think our E38 had that option in Europe too.

I have a 2020 CT6 platinum with a Roku in the HDMI input. The setup works great in the back seat but doesn’t display on the front screen, even while in park, so I have to go to the back seat to navigate the menu. The front screen shows distortion or a thick red line. Any idea why it doesn’t work on the front screen?

It's possible the facelift for 2019 changed something with the media computer making it non-functional. Unfortunately we aren't able to get our hands on the CT6 here anymore, we tried to get a 2019 but it wasn't made available on our fleet.

Hey mines at the dealer now with the same redline on the screen issue. They have the dash torn apart right now and are working on repairing it. Did you ever get yours fixed ?

Both as in the two in the back? You should be able to select the input for either rear screen. The front screen was able to display the HDMI while parked only to setup menus or make changes for the rear passengers.

We originally filmed this episode on the Escalade and couldn't get it to work. The rear entertainment system works differently compared to the CT6 unfortunately.

I believe Cadillac made some changes with the 2019 facelift, we've heard from a couple viewers who weren't able to get this to work on 2019s and 2020s.

Absolutely! We just went with this setup since the service was available, but it should work just the same if you’re using a mobile hotspot instead of the one built into the car.

If u used an Android TV device, like the Mibox S, the device doesn't require line of site. Works with Bluetooth.

Good point, I believe we mentioned that about the Roku Premiere+ that uses Bluetooth. Anything like that would be ideal for this setup.

You have to eject them from the rear drive unit, we did find that the button wasn't very sensitive and it took a few button presses for it to actually eject the disc.

If you don't have the rear HDMI input, then you won't be able to connect an external device. We only had the Platinum to test out, but if you have HDMI input on the car it should work!

I tried hooking up my Roku in my 18 Escalade and it doesn’t work. I changed the display type to 720p and still no luck. Any suggestions?

The Escalade's system really doesn't work with HDMI input for some reason. We were able to get it to display on the centre screen when we had the Escalade, but the output was only displaying the top left quarter of the Roku UI. It seems the Escalade's entertainment system is designed for non-HD signals, so 480p maximum.

This is the closest we have to that, unfortunately. I can try to help out if you have any specific questions, I found the Escalade's screen setup was using older tech over the CT6 we featured, and it didn't quite work together as well.
