Small correction: Season 3 is believed to consist of arc 5 and arc 6. Only arc 5 (16 episodes) has been confirmed as of yet, but leaks, inteviews, promos, and updated character designs heavily suggests that arc 6 will air afterwards. A reliable leaker has stated that season 3 will consist of a total of 38 episodes. It would make sense that arc 6 hasn't been officially announced yet, as its very premise spoils arc 5. In addition, the studio will probably want some wiggle room when it comes to planning the release date.

Thanks so much for this extra information. The websites I checked out only mentioned the 16 episodes for arc 5 but if we do get more that would be amazing. I'll update a pinned comment when there's more solid info.

Re zero arc 5 and 6 are gonna go wild. (Season 3) Arcs 7 and 8 are even more hype. (Season 4) Arc 9 and beyond isn’t even complete, but from the chapters I’ve read on WCT, it’s gonna be another banger. Tappei just never misses.
