When it's super hot & sunny with no cloud cover, I pull out some tulle fabric (it's simple netting from Hobby Lobby sold by the yard) lightly draping it directly on top of the plants & use a spring-type clothespin to hold it in place, at least during the hottest part of the day. It really helps to keep the young plants from wilting.

I found this video to be so helpful. I appreciate that you said just dig down into the top 2 inches or so and check it. When you were talking about watering where seeds had been sown, I had a light bulb moment. We have had temps in the 80's as well and why I did not think to be watering my seeds every day is beyond me, 😕. Thanks for explaining the watering process for raised beds. I do not have any earth beds so I know that I will be watering at least every other day. Also thanks for showing your garlic, I was worried about mine because one or two of the bottom leaves looked a bit yellow. I am guessing that is normal. I always love seeing your gardens, very inspiring and lots of great ideas! Thanks!!

I thought I was growing a lot of radishes, until I saw yours. I'm still wondering what I am going to do with all of them. I am growing French Breakfast, Malaga (purple), German Giant, Giant Radish of Sicily, and China Rose. I've snacked on a few French Breakfast radishes, dipped in ranch dressing-delicious. Most won't be redy to harvest until next week. Other than roasting, pickling, or eating raw, how else can you eat radishes?

A lot of times I let the the soil dry out too much and have to water the top two inches, wait 10 minutes and water again. Otherwise it just runs off the air trapped in the soil.
