"How do I know? I kill hundreds of them" 😂 the truest gardener statement there is. Trial an error is the name of the game! People will see my yard and their like oh you've got such a green thumb! And I'm like you don't understand the carnage it took to get here lol

A good layer of mulch would help keep the soil moist.

I planted my champagne loquat tree in a pot and the next day it started leafs started turning yellow and more the next day. So today I took it out of the pot to dry it out a little to make sure it doesn't get root rot. I love in south Georgia and it rained two days heavy

Thanks for the great vid. I bought a Loquat and once I transplanted it to the ground it went into shock. Started losing all the leaves and fruit. I live in Miami, March here is already summer, I was giving up on the tree until I started watering the rootball twice a day and its looking a little better. Morning and night. Should I also water the leaves as well? Thx again! :)

You have the perfect growing conditions for a loquat. Just keep watering and it will be fine. No need to wet the leaves.

in winter time, do you still have to water oftern, like every day? I am in AZ kind of weather just planted an young loquat tree (bare root).
@qctropicals3 жыл бұрын
Over 90% of the water you give your plants, they use thru transpiration(sweating). In winter, plants don't sweat as much so, the soil takes much longer to dry out. Simply check the soil and do let it dry out a bit more during winter months. Loquat shown in this video, in my soil with the type of drainage I have will probably require shallow watering every 3-4 days just to give you an idea.

Hi, do you have a business email or anything I can send a picture of my loquat to? Still has some green leaves and branches are flexible but has wilted and has brown leaves also. Didn't know about watering as much until August. Not sure if I should still put watering energy into mine or replace.
@danielfaulkner7638 Жыл бұрын
Btw, in Arizona also. Mesa/Gilbert. Tree has irrigation line and mulch but guess it wasn't getting enough cause leaves have slowly dropped off. It had fruit when planted but took it off to focus on growing. May be slowly killing it now.

I knew this person who waters her loquat tree not very much and it even produces fruits. She lives in an area in Perú with very little rain.
