Hey Stacey, love the video. I do watercolor painting and when you learn to watercolor they tell you most of the time your colors are going to lighten as they dry. That’s why most watercolor painters paint in washes or layers. Most watercolor is transparent to a point so you need to layer to do an actual painting. And then they tell you wherever there is water on your paper the paint will spread. Watercolor paper is a compressed fiber opus paper. I hope this helps.

I put clear gesso in my coloring books, and use acrylics watered down alittle bit and paint away. But have never heard of watercolor ground. Good to know.

Great find. Interesting. I like the idea of creating watercolor paper texture on different mediums. I would be more inclined to just cut die shapes out of watercolor paper, but you can't do that with glass - so that's awesome. Thanks for sharing this - glad that guy, whoever he was, asked you about it and that spurred you to do a little research to share with the rest of us.

Normally i would just die cut shapes out of watercolor but if you never tried the super textures watercolor groud, it gives such a nice texture that you cant get with watercolor. Thats why I like it.

If you add som ossgall to your rincingwater you have a bigger flow... If you have cheap watercolours, you can add some honey or gomme Arabic. It makes it a bit consistant. But for you I really recommend the ossgall. That makes the pigment spread around. I think that you have fun with that... ❤️❤️❤️

If you use regular paper, like in a scketchbook, you have to go fast, don’t use to much water and it has to be dry between to layers. So you can do water colouring in a scetchbook. But you really have to be fast and try to not se to much wet on wet... just use dry on wet and fade with water... but like I say... very quick...

Hi Stacy.. thanks for this video... not done watching it yet.. but didn't want to forget to tell you, that yes, there ARE canvases for water coloring... well, canvas boards are what I've seen so far. Oh, I've never tried this product, but I sure intend to buy some ASAP! Thanks, Stacy.. this was very educational!

Yeah I know there are canvas boards...I was talking about regular stretched canvas :) but with watercolor ground you can just use a regular canvas.
