Collinite No.845 Insulator wax for me. I put the bottle in a bucket of hot water to melt it. Pour some liquid wax on the applicator sponge and cover the whole car fairly quickly. Get the big soft yellow B&Q towel out and buff it off. Really easy! Shines up nice and the dirt and road grime doesn t stick to the paint work as much. After that i go around with an old toothbrush to get the left over wax out of the parking sensors, badges and panel gaps. Thanks for reading!

I chose a different way and I ask people to join me on patreon if they feel they save money on the channels. I’ve been pretty much exclusively been using FK1000P for the last few years as I have been doing valeting/detailing part time and it just does everything I need from an LSP. It's effortless to apply and remove, looks great, very durable, extremely hydrophobic and very reasonably priced, it’s very hard to beat as an all-rounder. I did, however, get a sample pot of Valet Pro Beading Marvellous about 6 months ago and I did a small durability test against 1000P and 4 other LSP’s and surprisingly Beading Marvellous was the clear winner with 1000P taking runner up. BM is not the easiest to apply as it doesn’t glide on very slickly but it buffs off easily, smells really nice, it does indeed bead marvellously, looks good and the price isn't too bad. Although when it comes to value it still doesn’t really get close to 1000P but I am very impressed with BM.

I use Finish Kare Hi-temp paste wax. I have been getting a good 6 months out of it. The shine is acceptable but doesn't pop like Petes 53 or Collinite's two paste waxes. And it's $20 for 15oz(~450ml). I also have a tip about the use of paste wax. Place the container in a thick freezer bag (zip-lock) and get as much air out before sealing it off. Because if the lid is not on tight enough it will dry out in a short time leaving it unusable. I lost a jar or wax that way. Cheers from Michigan.

I am a huge fan of FK 1000P as well! After an hour or so after buffing off, i go over the car with Finish Kare #425 or Serious Performance Ultra Gloss Show Detailer and the car is shining to the moon and back. 😀 Almost self-cleaning paintwork and wheels, dirt just doestn’t stick, so easy washing. Also very easy to work with. Durability (after full torough prep) 5-6 months at least, can be stretched with using SPUGv3 detailer.

I’ve only used one paste wax - meguiars gold class carnauba plus paste wax. It’s more of a show wax, it gives your car amazing looks that I’ve never seen from a wax before. Lovely warm glow and very slick paintwork. Car almost looked machine polished after applying it, but it doesn’t last long since it’s mainly carnuaba based. Only lasted a month and that was with 2 top ups of meguiars ceramic detailer which really boosts the beading. I’ve just ordered BILT hamber double speed though and I’m very excited to see the water beading on that.

My Top Tip for all you car finish enthusiasts. I have a white Hyundai i10 and use AutoGlym products and sometimes for a quick go over use a Demon shine spray on as its cheap and lasts fairly well but not as nice as Autoglym. Anyway my Top Tip; If i use tap water to wash my car I have to top up the shine with Halfords car wash, and its good. However if I use rain water from the water butt I do not need to use any product over the entire Winter. This is handy for me as over Winter the lower panels and tailgate can get filthy in just one drive, so I give it a quick go over with rain water, bucket and brush on the lower panels and Tailgate and it looks great for not much time and the polish that I put on months ago still works well. Tap water (my tap water is soft and nice but it does have Flourine additives) takes off the polished finish if used enough times, whereas Rain water does not.

I used, Mothers Carnuba Paste wax, a few times. I always have issues with buffing the wax off. I've tried putting the wax on as thin as possible, but once it dries it's like concrete. Even after just 30 seconds. Great if you're expecting allot of rain though. I'll apply a thin layer and leave it. The rain washes away the excess. Then with the next wash, I use carpro reset shampoo.

Love your channel! I am a complete detailing novice and only began my journey 5 months ago after purchasing a new car and wanting to make it's paint last. After watching countless wax reviews, I settled on using FK High-temp Wax for it's protective qualities and budget friendly price point. Now my question is, what do I do when it's time to re-seal? Do I need to strip off the original layer of FK Wax, go over it with clay bar, or can I just give the car a good wash and re-apply? Besides the product found in my shampoo, CG Extreme Body Wash + Wax, I haven't used any other wax on top of the sealant. It's been 4 months since application, so I'm sure it's time to take some action. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

A good wax/sealant combo in my opinion would be Meguiars M21/M26, looks really good! If you are in to layer and top up you probably should be looking into some Polishangel products, like Mastersealant, that is a great base for PA waxes made to fit MS or any other waxes actually. Favorite wax traditional wax would be R222 or Colinite 915. Tershine Magnify SiO2 wax is a intersting product as well!

Great review. I love your application procedures, much like mine, I never bought into the straight line thing, too many missed spots as you say. I live in the US Houston, Tx area, very hot and humid. Adam's Polishes is very popular here and I own many of their products. I have used P21s VERY much in my past. SUPER easy to apply and no residue. Almost fail safe as a wax. Poor Boys is one other and very cheap for the results. I have since gone to a line in the US called AMMONYC. The products developed by this guy LARRY, (you prob have seen his videos) came up with a line and they do build and work with one another. A sort of non_permanent "ceramic like" coating in a tiny bottle, then a sealant, then his carnuba wax to finish it off. He has his spray lubricant and or drying agent and spit shine, a sort of spray wax and they all include or ar infused with the same chemicals to play well with one another. I find the regimen ( which he calls it) to be pretty good. Quite pricey, not for the average joe on weekends but none the less for any car guru or classic car owner or high end or specialty car, I highly recommend the AMMO.

Hi Jon, I've recently subscribed love your videos I was wondering is AG EGP a sealant and if so could I apply BH double speed on top of EGP? Kevin from Ireland
@ForensicDetailing6 жыл бұрын
EGP is a sealant. I think is acrylic based. You can top it with double speed but then you loose all the cool surface characteristics (smooth and silky finish)... I would use one or the other or you will double the application effort, loose some of the benefits of the one you cover, and introduce some of the disadvantages of the one you have on top... thanks mate welcome to the channel great to have you on board.

Hi great video. I detail my car at least once a week and feel I’m fairly good at it although I’m always learning new techniques from guys such as yourself which is cool. One thing I always seem to struggle with and you touched upon it a little in your video is after I’ve waxed my car after a day or so the whole car is covered in a very thin film of dust then if if rains the water beads as I’d expect but them because it’s beaded when it dries my car ends up covered in loads of dust spots and ends up looking terrible especially given the time I spend on my car in comparison to day most of the other cars on my street mine ends up looking worse! Am I doing something wrong or is this just a downside to paste waxes and maybe I should try an acrylic sealant as you suggested? Your thoughts would be hugely appreciated thanks

Great video as usual mate I've mentioned in one of your previous videos that I've noticed that fusso leaves a really nasty oily residue behind. Regardless of how thin I spread it, to the point where I'll load the applicator, and run it empty before reloading - it still leaves behind a near impossible to buff off residue even when swapping to several clean microfibers. It's hard to see the residue in normal lighting, but in direct sunlight or under an inspection torch its pretty visible. I've not tried too many waxes, but Naviwax is possibly the easiest I've used to date. It goes onto a damp/wet panel and seems to spread very evenly and easily. You can see the water repelling/beading properties take effect as soon as you get a thin layer of product on the car. I had a small sample tub of JaysWax which uses the Si02 ceramic which you've talked about in previous videos. A really pleasant wax to to apply and buff off. Not sure if this is the same with all Si02 waxes, but it seemed to glide off the paint effortlessly with no residue left behind. I even missed a big patch of it accidentally and didn't realise until the following day - even that buffed off like I'd only applied it a few minutes prior. On a side note I'd be really interested in hearing your views on Si02 vs carnauba waxes.
@ForensicDetailing6 жыл бұрын
your right about fusso. It is prone to ghosting. misting water on the pad will reduce the amount of wax you pickup. some say full dry cure can help more. but yes if you have intense light and black paint, you can see things you cannot see on other colors. this is one of fussos downsides. KOG doesnt have this problem, suspect kiawma (sp) wont either. Its because its using lots of parafin wax.

I've had the exact same issue on my mineral grey BMW using fusso and didn't notice it till the day after, bugged me for weeks!! Not sure if I applied too much wax and caused the issue
@truuuupR6 жыл бұрын
W33K3NDMU51C nah it’s not the amount you apply. It’s unfortunately just a side-effect of this particular wax. Gutting really as it gives a pretty durable coat of protection that lasts. I’ve had to stop using it because there’s no way to get it on and off the paint without that oily ghosting look it leaves behind :(
@W33K3NDMU51C6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, such a massive shame as you mention, its gives a durable protection! I will give it one more go (I have loads left in the tub) before I go elsewhere. I used wolf's chemicals hardbody before that, was a great product but was a pain to buff off.

Hi what would you recommend for a white car and just an ultra glossy look? What polish and what wax or sealant would you say to use?
@ForensicDetailing6 жыл бұрын
yo mono. wash/decon/polish/protection. the protection product will play the least role in making the car look glossy of the 4 things. so the simple answer is keep the car clean. make sure the surface is contaminant free and highly refined. that gives you the pop. then product wise. to get it looking wetter like for a show type even. A thick high nuba oily paste wax will work wonders... but thick oily paste waxes tend to suck on durability. but anyway. Petes 53 and R222 are examples of thick oily paste waxes that look awesome on application but suck in terms of durability. You could also use adams or chemical guys wet butter wax as a quick hurl on product to make the car look nice and wet.. again rubbish durability though. Sealants generally dont add as much lustre as a paste wax in my opinion. but like Ive said getting the car popping is really about no contamination and having great paintwork. Glazes can also play a good role in getting the car looking cool and the effects of the glaze can last a bit longer... check out poorboys glaze for white cars.. You could also check out the silica primer polishes like gyeon primer, carpro essence etc that can make the car look great with less or lower system time on a machine polisher. And then top the primed finish with a comptable product. Check out some of the TAC systems silica based sealants to top the primer with.. that should get you nice results as well.. gonna cover it on the channel soon.

it says it's 1080p but the footage dow not seem particularly sharp. interesting coverage. Even though one thinks one knows how to wax it's always good to see things like this, it reminds you of your good habits and warns you of your bad ones. I for one know that I get impatient and end up applying too much wax and I am probably to aggressive in removal. Trouble is, sometimes when you get to that stage you have been working for yours and want it to be over! haha. My plan is to go panel by panel in spring rather than stage by stage if that makes sense.

Like you I'm always looking for value and performance, so I wondered how you rates something like AW's astonishingly expensive Enigma vs say AG's UHD?

Is it better to apply two layers of Fusso Coat or is it completely a waste of time doing that?

1 optimal m8. 2 diminishing returns but perhaps small gains

Any recommendations for a red car? 2017 Malibu to be exact, I hear a yellow carnuba will make it pop. Just looking for something kinda glossy for a daily driver. Wondering what you guy's have tried.

John, have you attempted was over reload? I’m thinking about trying this with enigma, but I do not want to waste that gold wax. Maybe fusso instead?

Excellent video sir! Do you foresee any compatibility issues if I use dodo juice lime prime lite before Fusso Dark?
@ForensicDetailing6 жыл бұрын
should be fine mate. avoid using the lime prime out in sunlight or heat and dont let it dry on the panel.

Will do. Thanks very much Jon.

i've been using the waxes from Dodo juice lately and i absolutely love them you know those little test jars, my favorite ones are dodo juice light fantastic and dodo juice orange crush. also its a bit off topic but what are your thoughts on the compounds&polishes from 3M? they always give me amazing results so thats why im curious

As a very last step, I use a microfibre Mitt to make sure I've not missed any wax anywhere.

Only wax I've ever used is Naviwax Dark...I've got a Sonic Grey Pearl Civic with LifeShine on it....I wash top up what I believe should be a sealant with the rapid 'apply when wet' wax which seems to leave a decent finish and beading effect but getting into salt spreading season I'm contemplating whacking a few coats of the Naviwax or getting into the Soft99 hybrid wax (not KoG or Fusso).

Fusso coat in the winter topped with sonax bsd after washes.in the summer i generally use zymol glasur,m&k show wax,r222 topped with m&k detailer.been thinking about anglewax fifth element..hows the beading? 🤔
@Siwulam6 жыл бұрын
I love fussu, but fusso is not supposed to be topped with anything. Its meant as a stand alone sealant.
@PixelVogue6 жыл бұрын
Was just about to ask this, lol Guess the beading would be crazy

Matthew Siwula i know but i like to use a detail spray after each wash to keep the car looking/beading good
@kenlawton15316 жыл бұрын
Matthew Siwula Says who? I use Fusso Coat as the sealant and top it with two coats of 845, brilliant. There are no strict rules with waxing a car.

Just subscribed after watching your posts all week. I’ve been an avid amateur detailer for years, but your posts are teaching me so much. Just bought a new car and it has come with Autoglym Lifeshine (applied by the BMW garage by mistake, so got for free). My question is, I always use Autoglym super resin followed by coat of Extra Gloss protection or more recently AG Ultra HD. Will this still be ok on top of the Lfeshine treatment? ............ And what are your thoughts on Lifeshine?
@ForensicDetailing5 жыл бұрын
if you buff SRP ontop of lifeshine you will prolly abrade the sealant off. Im not 100% sure about that but sort of 95%. autoglym would be able to confirm. But you will be fine putting UHD or EGP ontop of life. dont do both though. I would just put UHD on top mate. check out their new polar seal as well the will be a good option paul. Cheers mate.
@paulrichards6795 жыл бұрын
Cheers for that, bought the polar seal today after your recent review. Busy day tomorrow cleaning as it gives good weather for a change, will just go for the UHD after your advice.......... My opinion of the life shine is still open, seems good after 1 month but I can’t believe the claims of not needing polish for the life of car! ........... Keep up the good work, loving your catalogue of vids and great to know I’m not the only one who spends hours on my pride and joy

Used to use Collinite 476 topped off with Collinite 845. Since your review on Fusso, I now use Fusso dark topped with Fusso water block. After maintenance washes use Fusso Fukupika 2.0 wax detailer spray. I swear my cars bullet proof. I would appreciate it if you could do a review on this combo? Would appreciate your opinion, thanks.

Like angelwax halo to use as a sealant before I apply on a wax. No sure if that what others do but works for me

I like R222, it seems to give my black paint a good gloss. It's also very easy to use as you don't have to wait for it to cure. The only downside is it isn't very durable. I'm thinking of giving the new Autoglym Ultra Definition a go.
