Excellent video which I will pass along to the active surfers in my family.. Back in my day there was just one wax (beeswax) to be had and we put it on in circles all over our long boards. That was in Northern California before wet suits. Way cold!!!

Great video! Very well explained. Lakey have you considered using wax made of beeswax instead of paraffin? I produce surf wax out of beeswax and the results are great. And of course more environmentally friendly.

Ok, I'll date myself here....I remember when Mr. Zog's Sex Wax first came out in 72! We had been using Gulf Wax Paraffin, like you use for sealing jars of jelly when canning, on our surfboards and skimboards (round plywood clunkers, not what a skimboard has become!) We would have to drive about 30 miles to Yancy Spencer's "Innerlight Surf Shop" in Gulf Breeze FL. to buy it. RIP Yancy! I'm SO glad it's still around!

Zog's was invented by an engineer i worked with a little later than that. I remember their quonset hut shop running in 1976. Right next door sharing a wall was Santa Barbara Skateboards. Goleta engineered! Lakey's hometown region. Loved the diamond pattern Lakey!

I got every time rashes when using Fu wax. Pity because I like its stickiness. I swear for Sexwax too. I love the tip with putting some wax on your feet, definitely useful, I go and gonna try it :-)

Thanks lakey ily This works so much better with sex wax than with sticky bumps basecoat. For some reason the sticky bumps “rounds out” way easier compared to the nice edge on the sex wax puck.

Excellent Lakey I really learned a lot and how you achieved that technique in the resulting pattern and the bumps and all that stuff I never did that back in the day nobody ever did that and now your tutorial is excellent. Thank you so much and also one thing is that is that you’re using the quick humps which is the better sex wax the original, which I guess is still out there I don’t like it . 😮🤔☝🏻😃🤙🏼
