How to Wear a Slightly Loose Ring WITHOUT Resizing

As I got older and lost weight my wedding band got loose and would slip off my finger when wet or especially shaking it or soapy. I solved the problem with a couple coats of fingernail polish around the inside of the ring. It dries smooth and durable and not visible from the outside because it is on the inside of the ring and not subject to wear and tear. It effectively resized the ring to a slightly smaller diameter and solved the problem.

This also works really well if your fingers swell in the summer and then shrink a good bit in the winter, because you can always remove the smaller ring when your finger swells in the warmer months and add it back on when it starts getting colder.

As a man, I thought wearing two rings on one finger would be a bit much but I've been getting a lot of compliments on how nice they look. Honestly, it's a great conversation starter and most women are dealing with this problem too so the info I give them helps a lot. Thank you!

That is exactly what I did when my eternity ring was too large. I first bought one gold stacker which looks exactly like yours except it’s 18k. After wearing it with my ring for a couple of months, I decided to buy one more same stacker ring to frame the ring. By placing a thin stacker on both sides of the ring, it highlights the centre ring so much more and feels much better. I can also just wear both stackers alone and they look great!! Same thing just happened to me! I didn't know my ring size, so I tried a paper method I found online. I didn't pull the paper tight enough around my finger and ended up with a size 11.5 ring ordered on Etsy! I just got it resized, but I think I should've gone down another half size as it is still just slightly looser than I'd like. And thus, I ended up here lol

Sites that recommend the paper or string technique need to put a disclaimer so mistakes like this are avoided! It's the worst when it's just SLIGHTLY too loose.

Thank you. My engagement and wedding rings are loose, lately, and I’ve already come close to losing it down a drain, several times, and today, one of them slid off several times, So I’ve taken them off, so that I won’t lose them…. and they’re special… the engagement one has an inscription… I don’t want to resize them…. Because they’re not always lose like this. I tried using a clear “ouch less” hair tie, but it didn’t work, the rubber band was too tight, and wasn’t helping with the rings… =/ Anyway, thank you for this Stacking ring, idea. I didn’t know they existed. These two rings are the only jewelry I wear.

I just got the little rubber slide-ins that attach under the band to make it fit more snug. They come in clear so they’re hardly noticeable unless someone looks up close.

I love you idea of stacking w. a keeper ring that doesn't look like you're trying to just stack a bunch of rings together just bc "stacking is in". I have different size slender fingers, larger knuckles. I don't want to go to the hassle of sending rings back & forth. I have had rings ruined by sizing & work done. Especially silver. I don't trust the jewelers in my area. I have a 14k green jadeite ring that i paid about $140 for 23 yrs. ago. I will have to find someone to size it for me bc it is a sz 7 & I wear a sz. 6 ringfinger all day long. I have other "keeper" rings, but as a jade lover I don't want a lot of extraneous things like accent stones or other rings w. jade rings bc I just want to focus on the stone. I have purchased silicone ring adjuster coils but have not used them yet as this option looks bulky & uncomfortable. I am very picky about my jewelry, especially rings. Rings are my favorite form of jewelry.

I did this but the loose ring just keeps rotating, doesn't fall off though. When I got engaged my ring size was 8, lost weight and now it's 7 so my wedding ring fits snuggly and that's what's holding the engagement ring on my finger

Probably not helpful if you want it for the same finger, but my ring was slightly too loose for my R ring finger but fits perfectly on my L index finger. So just try the ring on other fingers. Usually something will fit it with all the different finger sizes.

Put lots of soap all over your hand and slowly work on sliding it off by pushing your skin back. Cooking oil or olive oil also work well but do this in the middle of the day or at night. Hands get swollen in the morning. Hands also swell up in hot weather so cold is better. Good luck.
