This depends on the button level of your waistcoat, If the button level of your waistcoat is high (closer to your neck) Then you can wear your coat buttoned or unbuttoned. But if the button level of your waistcoat is lower, don't button up your coat since the waistcoat won't be showing, You can do your own thing and button it up regardless if you only use the waistcoat as something to make you warmer, But highly go against buttoning your coat with a low button level waistcoat. It also depends on your coat. But as a rule of thumb, don't button your coat if the waistcoat is not showing, But if it does show, It is optional.

The suit looks great and the wearer probably doesn’t mind how the fabric is stressed when buttoned. To anyone unfamiliar with suits, you do not want that on a suit. Such a tight fit is not recommended for any suit and only particularly slim physiques can make that work. If you want a suit cut so slim that’s perfectly fine but for an ideal fit the jacket should not strain when buttoning it. It appears that the reason for having such a tapered suit is because the wearer has a noticeable shoulder-to-waist ratio and the chest is causing the fabric to struggle. The standard rules are that the jacket should end at your knuckles, the sleeve should cut off at the break of your wrist, the buttons should not strain (never button the bottom button), and the shoulders should be at least the width of your own if not a bit wider.

My first suit was from H&M and would look like a $1000 suit compared to this. The best way I can think of to make this suit look better would be to throw it away and start over. No, this is by Absolute Bespoke. It's not a Savile Row suit. Huntsman do have one-button as a signature yes, but they stick to very classic proportions. This is a very slimming suit.
