I decided to follow Thailand's newest trend and dressed up in a traditional Thai costume to explore beautiful temples and ruines in Ayutthaya.
The costume I am wearing is called Pha chung hang (Thai: ผ้าจูงหาง) or Chang kben (Thai: โจงกระเบน) which is a lower-body, wrap around cloth.
Traditional Thai clothing is called chut thai (Thai: ชุดไทย), which literally means 'Thai outfit'. Chut thai for women usually consists of a pha nung or a pha chung hang, a blouse, and a pha biang.
If you have already explored Bangkok in all possible touristic ways maybe this is something fun and unique to add to your list for your next visit to Bangkok or Ayutthaya!
