I now have good leather bags, summer and winter footwear, and belts in all my wardrobe color-palette’s neutrals and basics (like navy and burgundy). It did take 40 years, though, of slowly acquiring my items to get to this point. I tried to buy one “set” of “matching” (similar hue, doesn’t have to be an exact color, or a texture, match) footwear and accessories in a particular color each year, depending on what was trending each season. I tried to buy the most classic designs I could find, so these only need occasional updating now if something does eventually look out-of-style. But, mostly, they don’t because I avoid extreme trends. This makes it so much easier to put good outfits together. I always loved same-hue sets; I happily ignore the no “matchy-matchy rule” someone cooked up around 2000. I just don’t like the look of three wildly different colors, it fights with the colorsof the clothes in an outfit. With prints, especially, which I do like, a matching set makes the accessories blend into the background, so they don’t compete with the rest of the outfit, they just complement and complete it. This is a “quiet” look, which I always preferred. I don’t want a high turnover or of my wardrobe items, ideally, I’ll buy really good, timeless items that won’t look dated. I don’t want to buy more for my wardrobe, except if I “fall in love with” something, which happens now and then.

Great wardrobe combinations with burgundy, Gemma. I have two burgundy handbags that I purchased over 4 years ago. I wear my smaller crescent one with my neutrals during the spring/summer months and it adds a great pop of color. Thanks for your styling ideas. I bought a burgundy bag from Victoria's Secret from Next online. It's a 'camera style' design (I'm a big fan of those, have a few in different colours). Anyway, navy blue and grey bags are a good classic staple colour and can polish you off. If you see one, get one, trust me, it will last you for years and will serve you well. White and cream as well as rafia/seagrass bags are great for the spring and summer time, they won't let you down eitger

I love my burgundy leather bag from Quince. It is a bit small, though, for when I need to carry a lot and need a medium size bag (I never need large ones). I love the trending colors this autumn, khaki green, burgundy, browns and blues. A little deep red, too, so long as it is cool-toned to work with my cool-toned coloring. This summer’s tomato-red was too orangey for me.

Red and burgundy is something I did not have in my wardrobe colours but have recently invested in red skirt,couple t-shirts and red shoes. Burgundy was another colour which today I have just bought t-shirt plain ,white burgundy stripe and burgundy widrlrg joggers with black stripe, I have gathered some great ideas from you but all I need now is small burgundy bag yet to find . I have mixture colours greys, navy and I love the idea of cream and burgundy. Thanks!

I have two pre-loved luxrul that people left the stickers on, and when you remove them, the hardware looks different than the hardware right next to it that the sticker didn't touch. It's not because the other has scratches, the sticky stuff affected the finish.
