I love the Southern Pacific tank car at 0:38. Do you know which model train corporation made it?

Cool, like the light weathering, I haven't done any weathering of my own but I like your technique and may try it sometime, thanks for sharing

I definitely recommend you try it out, it’s pretty dang easy! I started weathering yesterday and am making tutorials today. And I find it very fun. Glad you enjoyed it!

I model O scale but fading the car down with an airbrush will give some great results! Of course that's if you're going for a heavy fade like modern UTLX tanks these days. Good vid!!

Thank you ! I was "looking for inspiration" on how to do the weathering for some black tank cars of mine. Black is not an easy colour for weatheing...

Most of my fleet would have more "oxidized" dull finish. Recommend lite airbrushing

Thanks for the lesson. I have an O scale brass tank car I'd like to weather. I might give it a try. I don't think the side walls of most railcar wheels are rubbed clean. (I've spent a lot of time around trains.) Frogs and crossing guides don't rise above the rail head. That said, I have noticed this once in awhile. I assumed it was from the retarders in a hump yard, but not sure. It seems like a lot of tank cars have the remnants of dripping down the side from the filler valve or dome. You didn't do that.

The best part about modeling trains is there’s a prototype for almost anything. You can weather it however you like :)

Great example of less is more. That's the new weatherman's biggest problem.
