How to weave a yucca cool basket

In this video I weave a coil basket out of yucca in the traditional style. I use yucca harvested from local yucca plants. In making these baskets there are two types of split yucca, thread needle thread and a filler thread. The filler threads make up the coils and the needle threads ties the Basket together.

thanks for sharing this! It's pretty difficult to tell how exactly you're getting started, because your hands will go out of the camera view. Specifically, it's difficult to tell what you do after the first 2 knots are formed... Just FYI would love to get the full details, thanks again!

Hey thanks for the vid it is really helpful for getting the jist of making a basket with yucca. Your editing makes it a little difficult to understand what you are doing (the clips are cut super short)! Then again I don't see too many videos on this so overall - THANK YOU!!!
