Learn how to weave soumak in a number of different ways.
Soumak is a really versatile technique that creates rope like or braided effects.
It sits proud of the warp and is great for creating texture, highlighting shapes, creating curves and filling space quickly if you want to make something in a hurry!
Single soumak, woven as a single row, will give you a twisted rope effect and, by varying a few simple techniques, you can also use single soumak to create chevrons, stacked and herringbone effects.
Double soumak is a quick way of creating chevrons, working with two ends of yarn at a time.

There are a few clips in this video that are almost out of shot, apologies for this, schoolgirl error, I'm still learning and didn't have time to reshoot them. Thankfully they're not crucial bits so you should still be able to learn all the techniques without them!
