Barbie I have to tell you watching your videos inspires me to get creative. I’m a 55 year old retired lineman from Rochester, NY and have never picked up a welder . I do however draw and paint on my iPad and always liked being creative in everything I do. Thanks to you and your motivational qualities I will be taking the summer welding course at BOCES and buying my first welder! Thanks again, Mike

Yes!!! I learned to weld at Boces!! It’s a great program! I’ve got family in Rochester and usually make it up there a couple times a year!

Just getting into the metal art and it’s something I would love to do full time, been welding for 6-7 years but the art is new to me, thank you for the inspiration! It can get frustrating at times but I am learning not to give up when it gets hard.

Super cool! It’s practice, patience, and process. Love them all, stay true to who you are, and play!! Stay in touch and ask if you have questions. I’ll help if I can. I’d love to have you update me on your progress, however no pressure!🫶🏻☺️

As with your sunflower video, I got lots of ideas I can translate to my blacksmithing work. I prefer to chisel in the lines on my feathers when the steel is hot, and ended up forging a "chisel hammer" with the chisels angled at 45 degrees to speed up the process. Never thought of welding the center line in, but will try that this afternoon. Thanks so much!

You and your videos are so cool, I just read that you are looking to move from N.Y. state, I can't believe how many people live in that state, nearly as much people as in all of Canada. I live in southern Alberta and it just recently got cold. It has slowed up my shop build, I have to double up my long johns, I should get busy, I have to walk my dog and then get out to the shop, hope you have an awesome day!!!!

Hello!

You've got it down to a tee: unless you transcend the physical nature of the materials you're using, you'll never make a statement worthy of consideration. It's one thing to use horseshoes or old rusty hardware but it has to go above and beyond that or you'll wind up being typecast as a horseshoe or junk sculpture craftsman instead of an artist capable of making a powerful statement using materials in a way where the sum total of the work is greater than all the parts, if that makes sense....I can tell by the way you handle and respect that steel that you're a serious artist.
