Oh my gosh, I'm loving this from Boston! You are so talented. I've always wanted to learn how to refinish furniture, but never had any experience with doing anything like this. Thank you for such a great video. I may gain some courage to try to do something small by watching you! I subscribed.

I love the hardware, and clicked on the link which brought me to your store, but it is not the same hardware as you have in this beautiful piece.

Be still my heart. That is the most beautiful sideboard I’ve ever seen. I’m speaking of the design but doing the wash , like I said , be still my heart. I’m falling in love with a wash. Thank you so much in sharing your technique at how to make a wash. ♥️♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟

Love that lighter finish. I have a very orange coffee table that I’d love to refinish in that beautiful soft natural tone. The top is a parquetry finish which I think is veneer on MDF. It’ll be my first attempt and not sure where to start but thinking I’d need to use a stripping compound rather than sanding the finish off? Finding your videos very informative and I’ll definitely be using them as a guide. Love your work. 😊

Can you touch base on how you seal it? I feel confident doing the white wash but how to I seal it properly?

Hi Ashley, this piece turned out absolutely beautiful, as has all of your other videoed projects. My question is: it seems your specialty is working with real wood, but have you restored or stained any projects that have been made with plywood? I have added floating shelves (in my LR) that are made from birch plywood and I’m ready to stain them, but need some advice. The natural grain and color of the plywood is really pretty so I could use a natural stain and seal them However, most of my finishes in the room are the greyish/beigish taupe color. Any suggestions?

What water based varnish do you use please?
@BlueWrenInteriors8 ай бұрын
I used a monocel brand from Bunnings for this one. Most brands are perfectly fine to use.

This is so beautiful. You’ve inspired me to try this on a cabinet. Could I ask do you paint wash the inside of the drawers as well? Also do you sand before applying the sealant? Thank you 🙏😇
@BlueWrenInteriors8 ай бұрын
I’ll do inside the drawers depending on what they look like. If they are raw and I can sand them I will apply the paint wash to those too and seal. After the paint wash has dried I’ll do a quick hand sand with a 320-400 grit to smooth out the raised grain and then apply a waterbased top coat

Beautiful piece!!! Is there anything special you would recommend when choosing the top coat? Are they water based as well? Have been following you for a long time on IG!!

On lighter wood pieces I generally choose something waterbased. A polyurethane or varnish in either a satin or matte sheen :)

What did you use for the paint wash what color it doesn’t say you have two choices fusion mineral paint and cathedral and Algonquin
@BlueWrenInteriors6 ай бұрын
I mixed both colours to make a light tan. However it’s hard to mess it up. Any light neutral or light tan colour is fine to use. :)
