Fun fact: the "neck puff" on a rabbit is called a dewlap, and is found in both male and female rabbits, but often get bigger in females so that they can use the fur from the dewlap as nesting material if need be.

I've got covid so stuck at home so cut a 2inch diameter bit of Hazel from neighbours hedge and had a go took so long shaving it until I figured out what to make then once I'd decided on "wizard face" time vanished. Also hadn't given any thought to why you wear gloves....I know now.

I am a perfectionist to an extent where my work actually suffered from it. So when I started whittling I tried to be as precise as possible. But then your knife slips and the tip of the toe or the tail falls off and you've got to improvise...and the result often looks pretty cool. So I started to not care as much anymore. Switch my brain off and just do some whittling. It's got such a meditative effect on me!

You keep saying “push cut” before you make what I thought was called a “stop cut.” (I learned these terms from watching your videos, so I’m not trying to front like I know more about this stuff.) Is there overlap between these 2 terms?
@CarvingisFun
@CarvingisFun 2 жыл бұрын
Probably just in my brain at that moment in time there is an overlap, but its me using the wrong term. I do have a tendency to use the wrong words, even more so when I'm tired n work has been kicking my butt this year. So no overlap, a push cut is a push cut and a stop cut is a stop cut. I def did say the wrong term several times in the video and that is my fault, sorry for thr confusion!

Howdy! I am using a Helvie Flex Knife from Helvie Knives. These are in high demand and have a several month waiting list. If you want one I suggest browsing their options and sending them an email to see if they have an active waiting list for their knives.
