I watch a lot of street interviews. Julie is the first Filipina I have seen in one who has ever admitted wanting to be asked what she thinks, consistently. I love her honesty! I watch people's facial expressions and body language when they answer questions and I suspect that more women FEEL this way, but opt for the "go along" answer because of tradition and because they are shy about being on camera. Asking someone what they think and feel isn't a "trick question," but remaining silent when someone asks is a "trick answer" because we will get things wrong, you'll be frustrated, make us deal with tampo, and then we'll be frustrated too. Being honest and forthright takes courage, and it's easier when we feel safe, but it's a huge "green flag." 🙂

I was wearing cargo shorts when I met the young, provincial Filipina who was to become Mrs. Rick five months later. She was fascinated by my American hairy legs. Not really something she was familiar with in her culture. My advice (if you have hairy legs) is to wear cargo shorts often and everywhere. You never can tell who's attention you'll attract. As a note, she is still fascinated by my hairy legs even after 50 years together. It's my secret weapon.

I think the ladies should think a little deeper, him talking about his past relationships, is a good thing for her. She can find out what went wrong with those past relationships and try not to make those same mistakes and end up being one of his past relationship also. "He should only focus on me and ask questions about me," wrong answer, a relationship is about BOTH people, not just you, and you should want to get to know him which means letting him talk about himself. I do like Julie's last answer "She shouldn't put herself in a position or situation to make the man question her loyalty," completely agree. Just like all women mostly the kiss comes from the guy first its always the guy who sets the feeling first and never the girl and why?shy can come from a man to and not want to show he cares alot in the kiss and she can do it in the same way and influence him aswell.equeal is better then only one putting forth and maybe there is a problem in one that pushes them away from doing what they really want to again.think about this ladys cause not every guy has the guts to go forth when theve been heartbroken tomany times in life

I see the point of Lorie's questions to these Filipinas. She's trying to "bridge the gap" so to speak between East and West culture. Men in the West are used to Sexual Harassment being falsely thrown their way, along with being called creeps (just for saying Hi) to a woman who is attractive to him, and 40% of U.S. men are raising some other man's offspring. So now take that same scenario and put it in the Philippines, where foreigners have no rights, and we don't know Philippine Law hardly at all, and that could spell disaster to the foreigners for the rest of their lives with prison terms. I know Filipinas are known to be shy, but considering say a U.S. man who you want, and know is a good man who you want a future family with, Filipinas' you may have to make the first move. Better yet, while at dinner make this a topic for discussion during y'alls dinner date. Trust me if a man asks you on a date he is interested in you, and wants to possibly have a future with you. Now if Lorie would've mentioned what a Western man has to put up with in his country dating wise in this video, do you think the Filipina's interviewed would've given a different answer knowing all the facts and outcomes, and they would make the first move? Food for thought. I see what y'all are doing Fuentes' and that is some deep stuff that is not being said, but you're covering to get a perspective. Nicely done.

why do they say "Pu", after each sentence?

Po is a sentence marker added to words and sentences to denote respect to those who are older, in authority, or otherwise in a societal place of respect. To the clerk at the local 7-11 you would say "Salamat" (thank you), but to your teacher, your auntie, or the older neighbor next door you would say, "Salamat po". I have found that most Filipinos don't really expect it from foreigners, but when you add it (even to an English word or sentence) it give them delight and more respect for you. So feel free to say, "Thank you po" when appropriate. BTW, i am at the advanced age now where everyone says "po" to me, and there are not that many people I have to say "po" to. 😊😊
