Very good tips. I am a new member of toastmasters. Few weeks ago, I tried to deliver a humurous speech and now I will be a contender for a humurous speech. I can't believe it because I am a serious-type of person.

Way to go on getting the laughs! That's the main goal of that role :) I personally find I speak quicker in front of people than I do when practicing. Now you know to make the next one a bit longer.
