no, not for school but because in Minecraft me and my friends did everything in the game so I settled up a government with myself at its center and created a capital city where I do all my meetings in and I have to do a speech about colonization and the future of the nation I created.

I think one of the best parts about this video is that she's confident and has a good voice, like a person who's experienced in doing speeches/presentations, unlike other videos where I've heard people stutter or speak quietly. I think this is important because it shows that what we're learning is reliable, because if they use the information they're teaching how they give their speech/presentation about it should also show if it works.

I always enjoy the story telling openers. When the speaker makes me visualize the essence of what they're about to talk about before they even begin the speech it makes it that much more interesting. Plus if the story has humour, big thumbs up!!!

My topic was gaslighting and it's effects for an impromptu speech and I said, "As a professional gaslighter myself..."While I did get laughs, the teacher was NOT happy. The guy before me had an opener which went "Hello monkeys, today I will talk about gender discrimination." Later he said that he sexually assaults people as a hobby??? Needless to say, the teacher failed him on the spot.

Oh no! Humor can definitely be tricky in formal settings. It sounds like you were aiming for a light-hearted moment, but it's tough when it doesn't land as intended. It’s a learning curve for everyone. The other guy who presented was definitely dropped an offensive line.

The video outlines the best and worst ways to open a speech. It advises against mentioning technical difficulties or personal nervousness, as they distract the audience. Instead, it suggests starting with engaging techniques like storytelling, introducing a big idea, or using a quirky one-liner to capture attention. Examples include opening with a personal story, an intriguing fact, or humor. The video also hints at techniques for closing speeches effectively and offers additional resources for mastering presentations through a course. so good video how to describe make people not nervous in public
