How to win an FTL run! Zoltan A, hard mode, no pause edition!

I just lost a run on the third phase because I didn't get offered any useful weapons for almost my whole run on this ship, but this video made me realize the Flak 2 I couldn't get online at the time it was offered could have saved it for sure. I should rely less on tier lists for weapons.

I can confirm that I originally came to this channel to see how to go about successfully getting a win with a ship other than the federation ones that I would just wait and have the artillery do stuff for me.

I keep losing on the boss ship, but I never thought of jumping away when things go badly! I always end up either losing to the drone phase, or if I can beat that the boarding phase usually does me in. I was just having a good run with zoltan B, but the RNG on the drone phase got me. could never hit all 4 shields down, just kept missing!

Heya! Been a long time fan of the game here, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching. I had no idea of the hacking drone stagger tech! Just a tip though: hull repair drones do 3-5 points per drone, which in scrap would be 9-15 or 12-20 scrap per drone!! For late game ofc ;) thanks again.

Zoltan A is the only ship where I’ve successfully finished Hard. So it has a place in my heart. Haha.

I did a normal mode run with the Zoltan A, with advanced content enabled.. it was pretty fun - in the first sector, I got weapon pre-igniter, so with zoltan shields, those are my two favorite augments. In the final fight I took no hull damage in phase one or two, and two hull damage in the final phase. The combination of a burst laser two + flak 1 + two hull beams is pretty epic in conjunction with zoltan shields and cloaking LOL

one time, I managed to create a ship with the Zoltan a with weapon pre-ignitor, and had 2 burst III lasers, a glaive beam, and a flak. I used the weapon pre-igniter trick, and managed to beat the final boss each time in like 5 seconds. I've never had a run as lucky as that

How do you get the grid for the beacon map?

If you google "FTL Extended Pursuit Indicator" that should bring up the mod I use to see the Rebel Fleet lines, good luck!
