One of the problems I have had with this event is the fact that even though you can plan your moves ahead, if you log off the game it doesn't actually move you until you log back in, and then you don't have moves when you actually do log in. So the planing of your moves is basically a useless feature when you need to go to work or some other IRL commitment. It is only useful if you want to move while you are doing something else in the game. And the grand prize is basically the worst flag pattern you can get! There are way more magic attack users then physical attack users. Most of the best tanks, all healers, all mages, basically all control (except Dark star), a lot of the supports. And in addition, most people who use physical attack need the dodge reduction pattern more, because of the abundance of Aurora, Dante, Cain and Nebula. Don't get me wrong, the gold pattern is great, but personally I would prefer ANY of the other patterns over physical attack

For Charlie it's easy, because he earns money with playing Hero Wars. And he might play it more often then everyone else. For players with a regular job it's a terrible event. And my guild mates wanna spend their free time with their families and not with this event. 🤷🏻‍♂️

For many that's not the issue (BUGS are the issue): 1. Castle lvl is 18, yet "Road to the Top" reward level is only 11....why? Support doesn't say why. 2. Doing a path... not very intuitive... IF you can get it to work at all. 3. Trying to get to the map and being stuck on the load screen. 4. Clicking the movement option... it doesn't work... click multiple times... then suddenly your character dances back and forth wasting movement points. 5. Opponents passing through enemy defensive line...without attacking... how do they do that? Some of us can't figure that out. And it's not simultaneous movements... the defensive block was there a while... opponent just passes through. SOOO MANY bugs on this... maybe that's why "people don't want to do it" They released a buggy mess.

There is no defensive "block". Anyone can choose to battle an opponent or not. If not, they are just standing on the same EXACT tile as you are and can then attack the settlement without ever having to bother with anyone else surrounding it. Your KEY reason to stand near a settlement is so that you can STEP INTO it should one of your team mates get removed from it

@@WoWGorchuk When you hover NEXT TO the opponent/swords, but ON the same tile, you get to see the "action point horse" and take a step there if you click. The tile will also light up Yellow instead of Red.

It's not unusual to attack and win and...the opponent is still in settlement with full health.

The opinions of a group of people at the limit of their level are out of line with the opinions held by many at this event. The story ended with an invincible bastard in the center, unable to inflict any damage no matter how much any of the participants attacked. It doesn't work as a game. No matter how kindly I put it, this event was a flawed product that didn't work as a game, and was absolutely shitty.

all the MANY bugs aside (and honestly that's what really ruins the event in my mind), it's a pretty boring and underwhelming event. i can see it being a little less boring if you have a very cooperative and skilled guild that team up and work together as you mentioned, but it needed to be like three days tops. a week is way too long to keep everyone's interest. the game mode also has the awkward contrast of being very boring to sit there and watch, but at the same time makes you feel the need to constantly babysit it to see what the opponents are doing, communicate to guild members (both online and for people coming online later), make sure you use your moves if you aren't holding a settlement (so log in once an hour, which i hear is a lot for people that actually have lives, but idk, lol...), periodically turn in your coins, etc. and if half your guild (or more) have no interest, have given up, etc; then your chances of success go way down. and time-zone occupancy of your guild mates also plays a huge part. my guild was lucky enough to have 5-10 people on within the first hour or two of the event, and we were able to quickly capture the middle and most of the other high-value settlements early on and hold on to them long enough to run away with the lead. the reward track/golden ticket (again, ignoring the minorly-game-breaking bugs) also is very underwhelming. you're basically paying $25 for an orange gift of dominion? (and that's assuming they fix the bug before the event ends) just doesn't seem enticing, even to someone like me that could certainly use that gift. the end of event placement awards are pretty nice though. any way to get thread is always welcome, though i find it ironic that i would personally rather have the third place patterns over the first place. TL;DR: if it weren't for all the bugs, i'd say it would be a decent event if it were shorter. it's not terrible, if a bit boring and tedious. but it's something different, and like Charlie said, it's something to do. some people don't like it for that reason alone, while others have been begging for more to do in the game. but the fact that they have supposedly been working on this for so long (why? what's so hard about it, 4-way match-making? i admit i am not a game designer, but it doesn't look like anything too crazy or ground-breaking) and STILL released it in the state it is in, rife with bugs, makes it a failure in my mind; and i look forward to presumably giving my feedback in a survey after the event.

Not fun at all. We were put up with two other teams that are waaaayy stronger than us, so they just kick us back to our castle all the time. Sooo… not fun at all 😄 I tried it for four days, but i'll stop tonight. Not fun, and the prizes are just meeh… 🤷🏻‍♂

Initial bugs caused most dissatisfaction - I couldn't move for 1st day. I have a day job, how do I justify logging in hourly? Can't. Are the rewards worth it? Doubtful. Get rid of it, no-one will miss it except those with nothing better to fill there days with or it's there day job.

For me, the worst part is that you cannot change your team as you progress. You are locked in until you get sent back to the castle. Second, a good offense team can be a terrible defense. So, you can take a fort but then get killed. Then you have to start all over. Honestly, it's not worth the effort.

The ONLY good thing about this event is that you can sit in a +4points for DAYS and just collect 40k+ points. No point to upgrade the castle.. At the end of event you ll get 200-260 Heroes upgrade chests. Have already collected 26.000 points with 4 days remaining.

@@SubZeroMG4u U do not upgrade castle lvl.....Keep coins for yourself. At the END OF the event you ll get 4heroes chests for every 800 coins you have.Nothing to do with castle level. At the moment i have collected 54.000 coins. i do not give ANY for castle upgrade. Castle upgrade happens anyway....no need to spend them for this

One issue with the guy you were trying to entice to chase you at the end is he is gaining energy half as quickly as you unless he uses a speed booster too. If you were regaining energy at the same speed maybe he could chase you, but with your speed booster you will just leave him in the dust.

IMHO: Area of Conquest is BS. Matching Guilds by Hero Power BS. Use Pet Power along with server age to more equally balance teams. Real world, newish server guilds vs long standing, highly evolved server guilds impossible Worst part, concept, added activity is/could be/very fun

you do not play this event for rewards, you play it for fun. and with a guild working together it can be a lot of fun. also you are paired with teams of similar strength, so it isn't really ptw. If my guild is all ftp, I will be teamed up with 3 other guilds that are ftp, and if we cooperate and win we will get the same rewards as the highest spending team on the server.

I ran out of moves, I put in some moves in advance, and went to bed. came back to HW, went to the event, and the first thing it does, is move my twelve spaces, that I'd set up last night. so now I have no moves left. I would have assumed that it moves each move that you set up in advance, as you get each move, so when you come back, you've already moved, and you've accumulated the move points, or the superior tokens if you're on a settlement. grrr..!

i used to play a card battle game called Lies of Astaroth, it had an event just like this but was only 2 hours long so the move energy only took i think 15 seconds per move point and there were only 2 guilds fighting each other not 4. pretty much the exact same event though. LoA also had 2 buff towers on the far left and right that as long as a player from your side sat on them you got 1 or both (if you had a player on each tower) types of buffs and you could buy healing and other buffs with the in-game currency, i think it was diamonds not emeralds but same thing

Lucky you. I can't even move in my Conquest. The first night, I was free to move so I quickly went to the highest paying community, grabbing chests on the way. In a couple of hours, I was able to "mine" a couple of thousand coins. I went to bed. Woke up... boom, can't move at all with 12 action points. Have been stuck at the castle since then :)

Wasn't what I was expected but at least they didn't push for mandatory fights. Got paired with three other guilds that have a range to 1 to 3 active players. After a while one to the top active guilds stopped trying to attack to just did what I did - sit at a settlement of choice and collect coins. Would've been nice if there were more than one 32-coin spot and zero 1-coin spots.

How about commenting on the fact that by exploiting bugs whole guilds got resources worth millions of emeralds for each guildie (even over 200.000 hero upgrade boxes), for like 20 bucks?

Yeah but, emeralds convert directly into superior coins on the castle page. 10,000 emeralds buys 5,000 superior coins, and is applied directly to your castle. Does it not apply to the ticker at the top of the map screen? Thanks Charlie, love your channel :)

My Guild dominated the board for the first few days of the event... Then two of the teams decided to combine their best players and attack us 2v1. So, we've lost most of the settlements. Luckily, we'll still have more than both of them when the time runs out on the event. All in all, this event just felt like another way for them to keep you online and active. I get it, it's how they are going to make money, but if this event never happens again... I won't be sad. It's been buggy for almost its entire existence.

Some of us in our guild just go right to an enemy castle and stand on the same spot as their people at spawn. The we just keep killing them and they respawn right away. If there are a few of us there, we basically ping pong them back and forth, lol. Every kill is 100 coins

So freakin boring, we captured 75% of the sets on the 1st day & that is it, we are just sitting around now collecting coins, meanwhile the rewards are not really much, Guild Prestige is way better than this.

There is definitely something wrong with this event. I can capture a castle and as long as I'm online, it seems to be collecting. The second I log off, I lose the castle. This has happened numerous times. When I log on - I've accumulated zero points and am back at start. It is just another even that favors the stronger guilds and gives them a huge advantage.

my guild only has 4 players and 2 of us, another player and me, have up to 200k coins so far. the other 3 enemies have maybe 70k between the 3 of them.

The ranking rewards are decent in my opinion. I've been needing golden threads to stitch together patterns for awhile now as I'm unwilling to unravel patterns to get threads.

Meh, for me the event was DOA. For the effort required to keep a high score, the rewards are GAAARBAGE. It was fun figuring it out for a bit on the first day, but once it became clear you'd need to go full sweat mode and be online every hour, every day, to maintain peak competitiveness, it was like yea, totem fragment tier reward or no thanks lol. We're just casualing it and not coordinating at all.

The game don't divide the teams equally. My team have only 1 player with 1M power. The other teams have more than 5 players with 1M power and those players are terrorizing settlements around our castle 😅. We can't do anything

I thought that the guilds you fight against are based on total guild power. We're fighting against two other guilds with only 1 or 2 active members, and one guild that has maybe 7 or 8 active members and 1 very strong player. I'm strongest in our guild, by quite a way, and we have 21 members, but only 4 or so are actively playing, and I'm the only one playing every day. it's a bit hit and miss in places, you can't please everyone. you get points for winning a battle, you can escape quickly out of your area and attack teams from the other guilds?

oooh hit-and-run and distractions tactics, Charlie-sensei? Nice nice! ^^ My team's extremely weak (very baby! I only restarted playing the game 2 1/2 months ago...), so I'm usually confining myself to the 1p settlements close to the Castle... BUT! Whenever I see unoccupied settlements that enemies aren't able to capture fast enough near the CENTER or there are settlements abandoned for some reason (and I could reach them within 12 move?), I would rush in and plunk my weak team in there! I usually don't do this when there aren't any guildmates near the unoccuped settlement, but when there's a guildmate near that position, it feels kinda FUN participating despite my weak team level with stronk guildies with years of experience and developed heroes in the game! aaah I do understand peeps' frustrations about the new game event as well as Nexters' greed overall... I hope peeps could still find a little bit of FUN with peeps in the game still playing though, like me! I feel lucky to have guildies who, even though they don't communicate much, were able to quickly understand the general idea/strat for the event: occupy the CENTER and surrounding area, defend each other, stay together as a guild! ^^

as far as I can tell, the rank from 1-4 is based solely on the amount of superior tokens collected (and banked in the castle), whilst sat on captured settlements.

matchmaking is big pile of shit... we ended with literary 3 other guilds which got like 15/30 but they're around 1m ps when we are 30/30 guild but like 300-500k ps so we cant do nothing literary to them... but as guilds we're considered equal ps overall. big pile of crap!🤮 we don't care anymore worst event ever for heroes

How To WIN Area of ​​Conquest, well I know, put a lot of real money into it. I have to say thumbs up for the creators of the event, because I think it is a very nice event, especially because you now have much more contact and cooperation with the members in your Guild. I know this is a pay-to-win game, but it would have been more fun and fair if they didn't do that at events like this. But that's how it goes, just like football in real life, money has to come in, that's all that matters, it's not about the game or the sport anymore. The real Heroes at Hero Wars are the ones who can win without money.

Our guild is doing well. We are in 1st some 60K ahead of the other 3 guilds so hopefully we will collect the top benefit but our castle is only level 15 & one of our opponents is also 15 level castle. My team is one of the weaker ones but I have been super successful at attacking and defending the 1, 2, 4 & 8 point settlements. I was able to defend an 8-pointer for 6 or 7 attacks with 2 different teams. Seems to be some good fun IMHO

Only thing I hate is if you log off in a settlement, you don't get any coins while you're logged out.

you are supposed to. but the event is ridden with bugs. if you take a settlement, you have to wait and watch it a minute or two to make sure you can visually verify that you are earning coins. if you don't see them pop up on screen and in your tally in the top right of the screen, then you have to waste two moves to move off the settlement and back on. then you should start to see it gaining coins again. a few of my guildmates and i noticed this on the first day...luckily relatively quickly...but we still lost hundreds of coins for the 15-30 minutes it took each of us to notice and correct the problem. i also had one instance in which i logged out for 4 hours and came back to zero coins. but you ARE *supposed to* earn coins while offline.

I think the 'offline' bug was fixed as I captured the 32, on day 1, and (I never log out, just close the window), I came back on day 2 and I had several thousand superior tokens, such that when I banked them our castle went from like level 1 up to level 6 (or something like that, I forget), but it catapulted us to 1st place (for all of a few hours). There's one big guy in another guild, and I'm the only active big player in our guild for this game, so me and this other guy are having a fight back and forth taking control of the 32 point, and his team is way stronger on power, they're all red+ at least, and I only have yasmine at red+2, but somehow I still seem to manage to either stop him beating me, in one go, or taking him out quicker than expected. I did notice that I'd sat for a while and had built up coins, but didn't put them in the castle, and when I came back later, he must have beaten me again, and I'd lost all the unbanked tokens, so you do have to make sure you look in every now and then to bank what you've collected, if you think you're going to get knocked off a settlement.
