How to WIN Cthulhu Wars according to the designer

I have a question that I’m unable to find an answer for so I would like to ask you about player order. While sitting at the table how do you determine who sits next to who around the table which will create player order for the game. I understand that The Great Cthulhu goes first and after that the player with the highest power becomes first player and picks the direction. My question is based on sitting at the table and who sits next to whom. Does everyone sit next to the map by their factions Glyph so it’s an easy reach to the Cultists as the game play begins? I believe there is a rule on WindWalker and Opener of the Way order of picking Area starting spots but who sits in what order around the table? I have purchased 4 extra expansion Factions and as they are added into gameplay I’m not sure what the seating order around the table should be or how to go about selecting seats at the map/table?

I'm confused. Sandy says in 24:10 that crawling chaos is the only faction which can't get power during gather power. What does that mean?

He means that you have to use "Harbinger" and "Thousand Forms" during your turn in order to benefit from the abilities. They cannot be used in the "Gather Power" phase.

Seriously, shoggoth is just useless with spell book. Eliminate a unit for three dices, it is rarely a gainful move in battle. at least if the ability had been; elimiate a unit for switch pain to kill or gain a kill, there's a good shoggoth. :)

Honestly the absorb ability is extremely powerful. We use it often. three more dice in a combat is amazing!

@@avail447 no, abduct is powerful spell book, channel power is extremely powerful and terror is terrible overpowered. Absorb, just no!

Absorb's great for assassinating GOOs.

@@guyblin If you are lucky, you could do much damage to the enemy but at what price. The game require that player will control must (in general) Gates so any loss unit will be detrimental to the control or maintenance of the area.

Clearly you are new to Cthulhu Wars. It is One of our groups favorite games. We have been playing it for years and are all very competitive. Frogs and cultists make wonderful Shoggoth fodder and interconnect well with abilities such as dreams and devolve. You would be terrified if you saw what we are capable of using absorption.
