Nice video! I use Nitro Clean for cleaning the mounting surface. I do almost exactly the same except I put the band on after I do the glue. Have you found it works better if you already have band on when you're gluing? Might have to try it that way.

how long does the glue take to set before you flip it over? I don't want to weaken the first side by disrupting it prematurely

The glue bottle will have a rating.

You can, I usually do, but in the chaos of shooting all these videos, I forgot to bring a hole punch.
