Some other generally good tips: 1. Keep an ace up your sleeve 2. If you get cleaned out, wait in the parking lot for the guy who beat you so you can duel him 3. Take a loan out to use for funds and then hit the big boy tables with high buy ins 4. Never tip the dealer so you save even more $

Always stay in jail as long as possible (reduces odds of paying rent to a competitor). the orange properties are most valuable, followed by light blue since most cards drawn will move either a player to Go or Jail, and due to 2 six sided dice most likely resulting in 6, 7, or 8 it gives the greatest chance that a competitor will land on them. Avoid utilities since the payout seems good at first but is nothing compared to actual houses or hotels. Railroads are good for early or mid game but terrible for end game for that same reason, trade them away later on if you can. You’re welcome.

For anyone who actually wants to get good at poker (specifically no-limit texas hold em), the first key fundamentals to learn are definitely pre-flop hand selection and the importance of position. This video mentions neither! In fact it even suggests you should basically play all your hands ("a bet would be a good idea"), which is a sure fire way to lose all your money.

It's interesting, this fact I didn't realize before. Overall, the probability of ending up with a straight is higher than for a flush, but once the first few cards are known, the probability is higher to complete a flush, than to complete a straight! It's easier to get a card of a suit (one in four, roughly) than to get a card in the exact rank (one or two in thirteen, roughly). Thanks for this tutorial.
@finalcountdown3210Ай бұрын
I realized this once I started playing Balatro. In practice, it's so much easier to spam Flushes in that game
@Zarl45124 күн бұрын
Correct, and something that is initially a bit counter intuitive given the hand ranking. You are more likely to complete a flush draw than an open ended straight draw, but you're also more likely to get the straight draw in the first place (leading to the situation that straights are more likely despite the final card being harder to hit). Actually in a game though it's rarely material. Between implied odds and wanting some variance in your betting, straight and open ended flushes draws practically both play the same as premium drawing hands.
@Zarl45124 күн бұрын
The shaking hand "tell" is an awful piece of advice and will get you busted repeatedly. The most common cause of shaky hands isn't fear, it's a release of tension caused by hitting an absolute monster hand and knowing you can't lose. Do not bet into a shaky hand, and certainly don't bluff them!

@patrickgambill93262 күн бұрын
The easy way for probabilities on the flop is to count your number of outs and multiply by 4. This gives you the percentage of you making your hand by the river. This is better, since it allows you to calculate the probabilities for any hand, including combo draws, full houses, flushes, open ended straight draws, gutshots, ect. For example... You have A of spades and J of spades in your hand. The board as 2 of spades, 5 of spades, and 7 of diamonds. Then there are 9 spades you haven't seen yet (9 outs), so you have about a 36% probability of making your hand by the river.

best way to win at poker is simply to play against rubbish players. so many people who learnt to play poker from watching films think that it is a game about psyching out opponents, spotting tells, all the hollywood clichés, it’s hilarious to play against them by just showing up a game with a very basic understand of the probabilities involved you’ll already beat the crappy players

This has got to be an AI generated video using chat GPT. The advice in this video is completely obsolete by modern standards and the "double ace" phrase used at 0:47 shows that this guy has zero clue what poker strategy even looks like in 2024. If you're gonna use chat GPT to make a video, at least know what you're talking about.

Not really any insightful tips in this video. Would have been better off talking about pre flop hand selection aka ranges and table position. Wouldn't have hurt to mention pot odds and implied odds but that's probably outside the understanding of most beginner players. To win at poker you need to make more +EV decisions than your opponent and have good variance aka luck.

This is a decently done video, you shouldn’t have made a click bait title though, just be real and tell it how it is. Click bait only needs to be done when your video is bad, you would actually get more views if you advertised this for what it was “poker probability broken down to increase wins” something like that You will also earn peoples respect, I don’t like the common KZbin tactics and would have liked and subbed if you kept it real, shame because again, this is a good video

With a queen and an 8, you can get a straight with 9 10 J, while with King 8, you'd need to have 9 10 Q J

Great video, the problemen is that my friends are absolute morrons and don't have betting paterns or know when their hand is good or bad. For example, my friend could have pocket eights but not understand that his hand is worthless because there are for diamonds on the board and the probability of another player having just 1 diamond is very large. So betting here would be a bit of a bluff since you know your hand is weak on this board. BUT THEY DONT KNOW CUZ THEYRE MORRONS
@JT2950118 күн бұрын
Yeah, never bluff against people that are really really bad. Just play your hands for value, its actually the simplest way to make money but you have to turn off your normal poker brain.

I don't know why all the experts watch this and berate it's contents that are fundamental to successfully playing poker. Their day isn't complete without complaining about something....
@jenkinsuu4 күн бұрын
Because these are not fundamentals, these are amateur “tips” based off movies and incorrect math. Take the range chart for example, 9-6 suited is in the playable tier while 4-3 suited is in unplayable, however 4-3 suited is a better starting hand due to implied odds. Poker, especially at an amateur level, isnt just about playing pocket aces, making bluffs and getting tells, its about crunching your pot odds with your implied, making +EV plays, abusing position and player types as well as managing your bankroll.
