@@nysp993 Well, not really in this game, the high tier skirmishes have even more loot, if you do a few of those you quickly have more Groschen than you'll ever need. I gave up on that a while ago, it's much more fun in a realistic as possible roleplay approach. To win the tourney this certainly isn't necessary, just learn the combat and it's a breeze, Hardcore or not.

Better to take it to the Broken Wheel Tavern it's much closer. You can either pay 2 groschen but if you do this on the regular better to pay the 250 groschen and get a permanent room up there for your hijinks. Also you can be stopped by a guard along the way so better get out of Rattay quicker through the back exit to the tavern.

Lolz, you're a genius. I just started this game and it surely has its ups n downs but I like how you can alter things in the game. I've came up with a few strategies myself (obviously because I keep dying and restarting) but this method is by far the most brilliant, thanks for sharing brother.

If anyone is having issues with this. It’s so important to save in between each knock out. Because for some reason. Every so often a guard will randomly spawn right by the door you shut at the beginning. Then you’ll load a couple times. And eventually he won’t randomly spawn there. Took me like 3 tries. But as of 3/20/2024 this still works Just make sure to save repeatedly. And if the guard spawns a few times, just know you aren’t doing it wrong. Just load. Cheers

@@ahmadbarjii I personally did not. Although like I said. It’s pretty finicky sometimes. But if you get that dude spawning in randomly on the other side of the door like I said. I didn’t go back to menu. I just loaded until he didn’t come back. I also noticed that he spawns less if you start with the guy sleeping closest to that door. I tried to start knocking them out from farthest to closest and he showed up every time. So wait till all the guards aren’t there. Close the door. Then save. Save after every person you knock out. That’s safest

I really think that's the proper way to win the tournament. The guy in front said that everyone going to have equal armor but that's not true, so Henry is smart boy, sneak to check his opponents before the tourney and found out that he is fucked. The man did what has to be done!

Just wondering - instead of lugging all of this on foot, why did not you transfer some of the loot to the horse saddle? I usually empty the inventories before shopping at Skalitz, so it can be done before "shopping"at Rattay. As for the tourney win, once you learn parry/counterattack, it is done with no effort.

Be careful not to equip any gear that is marked stolen. Stolen items are flagged in inventory with a red hand print symbol. That symbol eventually disappears but it can take several days. Another way to win is to sheath your weapon just before each round, back your opponent into a corner and punch his lights out. You quickly lose all your stamina, but very little health as long as you can keep him from striking you with his weapon. Once you punch away his stamina, his health begins to drop, and he eventually concedes the fight. Take potions before speaking with the Herald. Those can help throughout the first two rounds before their 10 minute duration expires. It isn't a satisfying way to win, but that's a personal decision.

10 mins was enough for 4-5 rounds, if you trained strenght and combat skills with Bernard.

I don't think it makes any difference if you equip stolen gear or just carry it around in your inventore or on the horse. They will randomly stop you after there was any thievery in or around town, not because you're wearing something stolen. You can find that information but not in my experience, I had playthroughs where I wore stolen valuable items from the start, the tag stayed for a long time and no one cared. Maybe that only works if it wasn't stolen in town, I don't remember the details.

Instead of making the long slow walk to the Millers Place, when overloaded. leave Rattay, go to the tavern pay $2 for a bed then you will have access to your own inventory box. dump your stuff in there. job done it saves on a massive walk and the risk of getting caught with stolen goods by Guards.

I usually just do the ol' run turn master strike combo while I'm under leveled for the tourney but it's always fun to do something different! I do find it strange that this works given the tournament is supposed to be supplying the gear to contestants. I guess the Devs didn't think about this...

i adore this game. its oneov my top 3 ov all time. as a historical armchair I love the immersion. always play on hardcore. currently using a cudgel and subpar light armor in Skallet's colors for roleplay and character... beat every camp. every random encounter. no matter how armored the opponent is: block. wait till I get a perfect parry. combo start... dead before combo is over. usually don't have to heal. rarely have to repair items. on the tournament... first guy is easy. usuly doesn't get a hit on me. second guy (before or after black peter victory): impossible. i waithim out. get perfect blocks on him.... he swings slow. rarely attacks. but if I play aggressive. watch his animations. counter to his weak spots... PERFECT PARRY! i have no exaggeration... been on max stats. max skill with weapon. gone up to the second guy and lost because I swun... he perfect counters. i back up let my stamina recharge fully.. feint attack... he perfect counters and I'm dead.... what the holy fuck? I'm not shit at combat. Mutt is set to Seek. rarely attacks. can fend off 3 bandets and 4 cumans in Skallits random encounters with a club and no shield... but this fucking second asshole in the Rattah tourney is the best fighter in the game.

Not fully working in my case: When trying to knock-out one of the group of 3 sleeping close together (at 03:45 in the video), the other two wake-up... Even though I have 20 in stealth, and wearing sneaking gear with the torch out... Been trying many different ways to no avail. Knocking out those further away is no issue.

I've seen a LOT of KCD videos where the player is trying to reduce their visibility... Quick tip: a monks black cassock and cowl with slippers turns you into a ghost. I was raiding bandit and Cuman camps at very low levels by waiting until 4am and slipping in, Killing the sentry and silently wiping them out. Dogs complicate this but I would get the dog to chase me into the woods, hit him with bow, and hide until the guards chilled and went back to the camp. Just fyi

If you have a horse and are about to get caught with stolen items transfer sverything to the horse you can and the guard won't find anything on you.

Are you sure? As far as I know that's very dated information, I don't steal stuff in cities so I couldn't say from experience but I looked it up and apparently this was patched out just a few months after release! Edit: I just tested it, put a lot of stolen weapons on the horse and after I got searched they were all gone.

You can parry and attack every time the green shield pops up. It costs no stamina and can't be blocked by your opponent. Takes a bit longer to win, but it's a fair strategy.

The lower your reputation is with the guards of a town the more likely they are to search you and they will more often search you. Best to bribe them or work on your speech.

not gona lie i can not say that was not a brilliant idea but for me i rather save before i start i just fight it out when i first found this game i was looking for a realistic medieval game i found this i pre ordered it that day download the alpha and ran through it 4 or 5 times at that point all you could do was help the bailiff find his keys i think you got to lock pick (this was a long time ago) and brew some herbs they may have been one other thing to do and i waited for about 6 months when the next alpha released before they had a combat training arena i feel in love with game for me it feels more like a chess match fighting one on one i never liked hacks or cheats or glitches i was just looking for a couple tips that might give me a slight edge i havnt done any combat trying to win the first tourney and the only reason im saying all this try a play through without pulling any stunts like this try to make it as realistic as possible and tell me its doesn't improve your experience its rare i even fast travel you might not like playing that realistic im just saying give it a try dont skip cut scenes let the game suck you in its a role playing game after all and if you dont like it then fuck it never try it again i just find things like that ruin the game and its such a fucking bad ass game ps that is the definition of thinking outside the box im not knocking what you it really is smart games like this are made to be a challenge its what makes you grind for gear actually have to practice your own skills to finish the game and if you get that big of a power boost so early on all you got left is a story teller and you act it out swatting flies

Idk if this will work but it's worth a try: Hide far away and then fire an arrow near Peter, that should wake him up and spook him for a bit, and if you didn't get seen you won't get a bounty. Even if you accidently hit Peter it should still be fine as long as he lives.

Warning: following this comments instructions will ruin your ability to enjoy combat in this game, proceed with caution! A simpler method to always win the tourney is to get the master stroke skill from Bernard, ask to learn combos first, the combo he teaches you for the longsword can be used to help beat him (a requirement for learning master strokes), you can learn master strokes at any time after entering the bailiffs service (a main quest requirement), you can ignore nightingale (the proceeding quest) for as long as you want, there's no time limit for the Rattay patrol quest, this will also let you participate in the first tournament round without any risk of missing it (hunting with Hans Capon usually causes you to miss it due to timing overlap), once you learn master strokes, practice with captain Bernard using wooden short sword/axe and shield (not mace, the bludgeon is an actual weapon and he'll beat you to death with it), then get used to performing the master stroke while also getting some defense skill (which makes perfect block and master stroke easier to perform), once your comfortable with it, congratulations you basically auto win every 1v1 fight for the entire game. Enter the tournament using maces to start, wait for you opponent to attack, master stroke him, now he's staggered, swing your mace at his head for a free hit, rinse and repeat until he gives up, doing this will make the second fight easier since his armours durability doesn't reset, so his helmet will be mostly broken, use the same strategy to win every round. Once you learn how clinches work (mechanically) you can incorporate them into your fights if you want since they also give you a free hit the same way, all combos also stagger opponents on completion so you can get an extra free hit there as well.

Is it embarrassing at the fact I still lost? They are way too fast. I cannot get a hit. They always do combos, especially past the first guy. The first guy is easy most of the time, but I cannot win when they choose a shield. Any type of shield is just too overpowered it’s so annoying they party every single attack I do and I cannot stop them. I cannot do things that they taught me to do because nothing works, I can barely get a single hit. I would get a hit then I would be happy then I would have a chance, but these guys are too strong especially when they do a combo. I don’t know how the hell am I supposed to beat them if I need to level up my character.

Pretty funny but completely unnecessary. I've never lost a tournament won 7 in a row so far and in fact have only lost one round and that was the first round of the championship fight in my first tournament. Also you could have transferred your loot to your horse so you could ride him. Open inventory and hit x on each item to transfer.

I've never done this and have no desire to even try, but it's not cheating. IHe's telling you go download a mod to make combat easier or use console command. This is part of the game mechanics. Imo it's a bit exploitive, but if the devs didn't want players doing this they would've put a guard who sits in the area or even 2. Second why does it bother you how other people play a single player game? If someone wants to run around with god mode on, then by all means go for it It doesn't affect me at all nor should it matter to you. If it was a mp game that would be a different story.

I kept getting destroyed by the runt boss fight, so reloaded a save and trained a ton with Bernard. I went back with the same gear and strategy and won no contest. To prove it was the stats and not that I "got good" I reloaded the previous save where I had lower stats and surprise surprise, got destroyed again. I tested both saves several times and got the same results to prove it wasn't a fluke. Everyone says that this game is skill based and that by end game you'll effortlessly beat everyone, but end game fights are all group battles where you're finally the one ganging up on the enemies. I started a new game and did the exploit that let's you power level your stats to max before leaving Skaltiz, to no surprise I was able to beat the cumans. Elitists are in denial by saying this game is skill based when it's really stat based because they can't accept the fact that the ungodly amount of time they spent raising their stats are the reason they "got good."
